Review| One Cruel Night – K.A. Linde

Last year I discovered the author K.A. Linde and loved everything I read by her. This year she’s releasing a new series, Cruel. The first book Cruel Money is out today and my review will be posted this afternoon as a part of the blog tour.

K.A. Linde surprised us all though when she released the novella, One Cruel Night, for free. One Cruel Night is the prequel for this series. I decided to read this one before diving in to my ARC of Cruel Money, so I wanted to share my review of this before the book this afternoon.

A heart-stopping sexy contemporary romance prequel to
USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s new Cruel Trilogy.

I spot the mysterious stranger across the party.

I’d seen him in the park, writing furiously in his worn leather notebook.

He’s pure confidence, born and bred in high society with eyes like a hawk—observant, cunning, and wicked. With sensual lips and a body made to worship, he’s exquisite. A work of art.

While I’m young, innocent, and completely out of my depth.

But I’m drawn to him. Captivated by his approach. When he asks for one night, I have only one word for him.

Yes.

One summer in Paris. One night with him. One cruel night.

Review

Natalie wasn’t planning on spending her last night in Paris at a party, but her best friend insisted. They don’t have the same type, so when she sees Penn sitting there again with his notebook, she has to say hi. Despite her best friend’s warning, she leaves the party for a night with Penn.

I have to say from the start, I didn’t really understand why Natalie was warned about Penn. He seemed really sweet and the night he created for her with his favorite things in Paris. Natalie isn’t used to doing anything she wants. Her friend has money, but she grew up in a military family. Their night turns pretty steamy after they walk around for awhile.

I finished this novella in one sitting. It’s only 112 pages, but I just couldn’t put it down. Penn seems really arrogant and used to getting what he wants, but I think there’s more to him than meets the eye. Natalie is still pretty innocent and finding her own way in life. She’s still discovering what she wants.

K.A. Linde created a fast paced world in a beautiful city. Believe me, the ending of this novella makes you want Cruel Money as soon as you’re done. The ending really leaves you hanging and promises for some interesting events! I can already tell this series is going to be addicting and one I can’t put down!

Novellas can be hit or miss, but this one definitely is a hit! If you want a little background before starting Cruel Money, definitely start with this one! I have a feeling this is going to help us understand the characters a lot better!
