Apart from reading tons and tons of books, I’m also a huge tv show fan. I have seen quite a lot of them during this year and I wanted to share some of my favorites. When making this list I was thinking of maybe sharing my 10 favorite shows haha, so naive! I ended up do 18, as we did with out favorite books (backlist and new releases) because narrowing it down was HARD. These are all shows that had a season (or half a season) during 2018. Let’s take a look!
These shows aren’t in any particular order, because that would simply be impossible haha. I try to not talk about them for too long, otherwise this post would be endless! Ain’t nobody got time for that 😉
I absolutely adored this show and I watched it in 1 day. We follow 2 sisters and their friend on their road to crime. They keep on getting in more trouble, and I really enjoyed this plot. The characters are wonderful as well and I was so addicted to this show haha.
La Casa de Papel
Another show I was obsessed with for a little while haha. I watch both seasons in just a couple of days and watched most of them again with my parents haha. This show is GENIUS and I love it so so much. The teaser for season 3 was just released and I can’t wait what’s in store for us. I didn’t know what this show was about, but somehow it’s kinda reminiscent of Ocean’s Eleven for me! If you want to follow a lovely band of criminals on a brilliant heist, this is the show for you.
One of my favorite summer shows ended this year! Every summer I looked forward to watching The Last Ship every week. This was such an interesting show and while it did follow some cliches, it also  does some really unique things. The last season wasn’t my favorite season unfortunately, I think that honor has to go to the first season, but it was still very enjoyable. As you can tell from the title, we follow a ship, and we live in a bit of a post apocalyptic world.
Candyce already did a Show Sunday about this show and it’s one we both love. I haven’t watched all of the episodes yet but I plan on correcting that very soon. This show has left me in tears and loved all the flawed characters. There is so much going on and I want all of them to be happy. A Million Little Things is about some very heavy and important topics but it also made me laugh out loud a lot.
Blindspot
I have watched Blindspot from the beginning and have enjoyed it ever since. Last years season wasn’t my favorite but the first half of season 4 aired this fall and I love the direction we’re going this time! I really hope the producers can keep this up because I’m super excited to watch a new episode every week. The mid season finale left me craving more!
Vikings
I absolutely adore Vikings and think it’s such an underrated tv show. The second half of the fifth season just stared airing and I have actually been scared to start watching haha. This she is so high stakes and no one is safe so I’m afraid not all of my favorites will see the end of the season.
Riverdale
I hope that by now you all know how much I adore Riverdale. Jughead, Betty, Archie, Cheryl are just a couple of my favorites and I usually watch the new episode as soon as it Netflix puts it up. The second season was pretty good in my opinion and while not everyone enjoys what we’ve seen from the third season so far, I actually LOVE it. I especially love how everything is coming together in these last episodes and the fact that we didn’t get these answers right away. CANNOT WAIT for the rest of the season.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
As soon as it was announced that we would get a dark Sabrina tv show I was excited and oh my, they lived up to allll of the expectations. This is truly a dark show, especially from about episode 7 onwards. The world is amazing and I enjoy the characters so so much. I really enjoy the storylines and am super excited to find out where all of these is leading us too. And we’re in luck because there half been a lot of new episodes announced already. In April we will get season 2 which will contain the second half of the current story line.
Station 19
Station 19 is a Grey’s Anatomy spin off show and that was reason enough for me to start watching it. I really enjoy the way the episodes are set up every week. The characters are wonderful and we just got a huge cliffhanger in the mid season finale.
How To Get Away With Murder
I have been watching the show since the beginning and still really enjoy it. The fourth season wasn’t the strongest out of all of them and it was unsure if we were getting a fifth one for a while.  Luckily we did! And I’m really enjoying this fifth season so far. Another great cliffhanger with that midseason finale, they really know how to keep us hooked 😉
Insatiable
This is a pretty controversial one probably and I know a lot of people don’t want to watch this show based of the trailer. I get what everyone is saying, but after watching the show I don’t think the message of the show is that you need to be thin to be happy. Our main character actually  discovers that just because she’s skinny now, she is NOT happy at all. Other than this, the show is hilarious and just a lot of fun to watch. It’s definitely a satyrical type of show and I personally really enjoy it.
I started watching Atypical after a friend recommended it to me and bingewatched it in no time haha. Candyce wrote a Show Sunday post about this show as well. Atypical is about an autistic teenager and the representation is very accurate in my opinion. This is such a heartfelt but funny show and I’m super excited about the next season.
The Blacklist
I feel like the hype surrounding this show has died down a bit unfortunately. However, the fifth season had some truly exceptional episodes with amazing plot twists. If you ever watched this show I would urge to keep on watching! The sixth season will start in January and I can’t wait to see how the saga continues.
The Originals
I always enjoyed the Vampire Diaries, but I loved The Originals. So naturally I was very sad to see this show end as well. Â This final season was probably my least favorite out of all of them, but I did cry so so much. It was bittersweet saying goodbye to some of my favorite characters ever and I’m glad we don’t have to completely leave this world yet.
Legacies
I was a bit hesitant about Legacies at first, I didn’t think it would be able to live up to The Originals and since both TVD and TO grew with their audiences and had started to feel more grown-up this show seemed like a step back. We’re following some of the kids we saw born in the TVD and TO as teenagers and that makes it very much a teen show. However, I’m enjoying it so much, they have succeeded in coming up with a very intriguing storyline and I love the characters. For now I will definitely keep on watching this show.
Lucifer
Lucifer is a wonderful show and we finally got the moment we had all been waiting for. Only to be told the show would be cancelled! Luckily is has found a new home and there will be more Lucifer. I hope the show will still have the same feel to it as I care deeply about these characters and they deserve all the love.
The Bold Type
This is another one of my favorite summer shows! I’m already looking forward to summer 2019 haha. We follow three wonderful 20 somethings and their friendship is to die for <3 I love the New York setting, the clothes, the stories, the laughter and joy, and the tears it brings me. Please keep on continuing being this amazing.
Shooter
Unfortunately Shooter has ended after 3 seasons. I loved the first season a lot (I hadn’t seen the original movie), enjoyed the second season, and once again loved the third season. Boblee turned into a bit of an ass in this last season but that last episode was beautiful and heartbreaking. Absolutely a perfect last episode, although I wish it was different haha.
Right before this post comes online, I realized that I forgot an absolute favorite show of mine and I just NEED to mention it here haha. And that is The 100, I loved the season we got in 2018 and I can’t wait for the next season. This show is going to go a whole new direction and I don’t think I can predict anything that will happen.
I have three more shows that need a shoutout. These didn’t air a season in 2018 but I did watch them this year.
I LOVED this show and watched all seasons in no time at all. We just got a little look at the cast for the new season that will air in 2019. Sam Claflin is added to the cast and I’m super excited for that. I raved about this show in a Show Sunday so if you want to read more about it, please read that post!
Full House
A friend of mine told me I NEEDED to finally watch this show so I could start watching Fuller House. To be honest I was never interested in this show before, but I like to have a 20 min show to watch whenever I have a little bit of time. I’m highly enjoying this show and have made it through the first 3 seasons in just a couple of weeks.
Somewhere Between
I started watching this last year but for whatever reason I stopped for a while. This summer I saw all episodes were on Netflix and decided to continue watching it. Such a good decision as I really enjoyed this suspenseful show. Would highly recommend it to anyone that likes suspense with a sci-fi twist.
And that was it, these are my favorite 2018 shows! I have watched many more but had to make some difficult decisions haha. Have you seen any of these? And what are some of your favorite shows that aired in 2018? Let me know in the comments! And let’s hope 2019 will be filled with as many good shows as 2018!
I love Lucifer!! I binged it in like 5 days haha and they were work days so it was bad. I need the next season right now!!

Hahahaha, those are the best shows though!
There’s a lot in here I haven’t watched (yet) but I’m happy to see some of my own favorites are represented as well like Shooter and the Blacklist! Vikings is still on my to watch list and I’m really interested in.
