We decided to add a new post to the blog. As you know, we show you the books we bought or received every month. This got us thinking, how many books have we actually already read from our hauls? So now once a month we will be looking back at our bookhauls from a year ago and tell you what we have read!
If we haven’t read many of them, hopefully this will motivate us a bit more to read more of the books we already own, haha. So this month we will talk about our bookhaul in November 2017.
Candyce
My bookhaul last November was a total of 7 books. That isn’t too bad. I actually really enjoy looking back at what I bought! Hopefully it’s just as fun seeing how much I have already read, haha.
Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe – Melissa de la Cruz
Last year I was in a holiday read mood. This book was really cute and I ended up finishing it really fast. I do remember that I was annoyed a bit by one of the characters. I think… I would have to read my review again, haha.
My New Crush Gave to Me – Shani Petroff
Another holiday read I finished in one day! This was so cute!! I think this was my favorite holiday read last year. The main character rigs the Secret Santa to have her crush, but things go a completely different way. I loved all the holiday activities in this book.
Otherworld – Jason Segel & Kirsten Miller
I think Isabelle and I have planned to read this almost every month this year, haha. Hopefully we get it done this month and love it as much as we think we will!
The Becoming of Noah Shaw – Michelle Hodkin
It’s pretty sad that the sequel to this one has already released and I still haven’t read it yet! I have decided though I plan on rereading Mara Dyer next year and continue with these. A buddyread has already been planned with a friend of ours!
The Last Namsara – Kristen Ciccarelli
I bought this one because this author was actually coming here for a signing. We met her and she was really sweet. I started reading this book and enjoyed what I did read, but got distracted by other books (story of my life, haha).
Whichwood – Tahereh Mafi
I got this one in a book box and it actually looks really good! I have enjoyed the middle grade books I have read this year. I do want to read Futhermore first though, even though they don’t have to be read in a particular order.
Warcross was a pleasant surprise! I got sucked into this world and loved all the aspects of it. I just wish we got actually more time to read about the game. Just because I loved the whole concept. I still haven’t read the sequel, but I hope to soon!
End Result:
Read: 3/7 – 43%
TBR: 4/7 – 57%
Isabelle
The Last Namsara – Kristen Ciccarelli
I have read and loved this one! It does remind me to pick up the sequel soon haha. Candyce and I met Kristen and she was so so sweet. She’s coming to the Netherlands again in 2019 and I hope to see her again.
Furyborn – Claire LeGrand
I talked about this one last Friday, I’m so sad I haven’t read this one yet. From what I’ve gathered this is one I will absolutely love, so hopefully I can start reading it soon.
The Princess Saves Herself in this One – Amanda Lovelace
This is my first ever poetry collection! And I enjoyed it haha. I read it in one sitting, it was such a quick read. Since then I have listened to other poetry collections as well and it makes me feel like such a grown up haha.
Murder on the Orient Express – Agatha Christie
I read this one right away, so I could go and see the new movie in the theatre. My mom has read a lot of Agatha Christie’s books and I do plan on reading more of these classic mysteries.
Can You Solve My Problems – Alex Bellos
I haven’t started this one or even looked at it. This year I have been reading more non-fiction books so maybe I’ll actually read this one soonish as well. I don’t mind unread non-fiction books as much so I’m fine with this being unread.
Otherworld – Jason Segel & Kirsten Miller
Candyce and I have planned on reading this one SO MANY TIMES! The plan is to finally read it in December, we’ll see how that goes 😉 I am really excited to read it so I hope it can live up to our expectations.
Whichwood – Tahereh Mafi
This was another one in my bookish item last week, since I still haven’t read Furthermore yet, I also haven’t read this one. I do plan on doing a MG month soon, so I can catch up on all the amazing MG novels I have waiting on me!
The Illustrated Compendium of Amazing Animal Facts – Maja Säfström
I loved this cute animal facts book. This is so fun to have, and I read it on no time. It has super cute drawings and the facts are really interesting.
The Little Book of Astrology – Marion Williamson
I haven’t picked this one up yet, and it might be awhile before I do. When I do pick it up, I’ll probably read chapters every now and then instead of reading the whole thing at once.
End Result:
Read: 4/9 – 44%
TBR: 5/9 – 55%
It’s always interesting to look back on the books we bought! Our end results are almost identical haha. What unread book has been on your shelf the longest?
