I’ve decided to try something new this week. This is a meme that I have seen on multiple blogs, but have never given it a try.
The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy for Books. In 2013 Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched this meme with the permission of the original blog. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question was: Do you take notes about the book you are reading as you read? This question was sent in by Silver’s Reviews.
Yes, I know this question was technically until yesterday, but I liked this one. Who knows? Maybe I will do the other one some time next week!
Taking notes is something I really need to do more of. When I read on the kindle app on my phone, I do hightlight quotes or parts of the books I think I need to remember. Or as of late when I read group reads for TBR & Beyond, I think of discussion questions as I read. I think this is easier than thinking of questions after reading.
I think next year, as I try and clean up my supply of backlist books, that I want to try using the sticky notes in the books as I go. For important quotes and things I need to remember for my review. I notice at times that while I write a review I can’t think of certain things anymore. Since it’s not easy to just flip through the book, I think this will be a perfect solution.
Highlighting books is something I’ve been thinking about as well, but that’s something that Isabelle and I will be talking about soon on the blog.
So I’m curious about other readers. Do you take notes while reading? If so, how do you keep track of everything? I would love to hear about how other readers tackle this!
