Wishlist Wednesday| Christmas Boxes

Last year we had a lot of fun putting together Christmas boxes (click to see what we got for each other last year) for each other. We did it again for our birthdays and just have way too much fun. So with Christmas around the corner, we decided once again to put together a Christmas box. Today we want to share the books we put on our wishlists for this occasion.

Candyce

It’s funny, I can always think of books that I want unless I need to make a wishlist. In the end I was finally able to think of books for this wishlist!

Ace of Shades – Amanda Foody

I have heard so many good things about this book, so I had to add it to my wishlist. This author will also be coming to the book group TBR & Beyond in January. So it would be the perfect time to get this one.

The Second Story – Neil Patrick Harris

In August I read The Magic Misfits and thought it was so cute! I really enjoyed how this author wrote this story and the little puzzles and magic tricks along the way. Have to see how this story continues for the main character.

Ink and Bone – Rachel Caine

Ink and Bone has been out for a few years and it sounds really good. I actually gave this one to Isabelle for our birthday boxes I think. The people I know who have read this, loved it, so I want to give it a try. The Great Library sounds like an interesting place to explore.

Vicious – V.E. Schwab

This year I have really become a fan of this author. I still have a few books of hers to read, but I have enjoyed everything so far. This story has had amazing reviews and just look at that cover!

Broken Things – Lauren Oliver

I have really been interested in YA thrillers lately. This one sounds like it’s going to be really interesting. On top of that the girls are obsessed with a novel. I love it when characters are interested in a book or fandom. Even though it may not be in a healthy way in this case.

The Darkest Corners – Kara Thomas

I loved Little Monsters by this author and recently bought The Cheerleaders. I just found out recently that Kara Thomas has another book. The sypnosis sounds promising!

Wundersmith – Jessica Townsend

Nevermoor is one of my favorite reads this year! This author has created an amazing, magical world. The main character thinks she’s cursed, but that’s far from the truth. Nevermoor is there for her when she needs it! Imagine a place where the room decorates on its own, once it gets to know you! I can’t wait to see what Morrigan will face next.

Daughter of the Pirate King – Tricia Levenseller

I haven’t really ever read a pirate book (not that I can remember anyways), but this one sounds really good. I know Isabelle read this one and enjoyed it. I love the cover and I have been wanting to read this book for awhile.

The Bone Witch – Rin Chupeco

To start off, this book has an amazing cover! This series is described as a dark fantasy for fans of Leigh Bardugo and Sabaa Tahir. Accidentally bringing your brother back from the dead isn’t something you read about everyday, haha. I am really interested to see how this one plays out.

Fragments of the Lost – Megan Miranda

Another YA thriller I have added to my wishlist. This book is for fans of We Were Liars and 13 Reasons Why. I loved both of these books, so that’s a good start. I love trying to solve the puzzles with the characters.

Isabelle

Like Candyce I had a lot of trouble putting my wishlist together haha. All year round I want so many books but the moment I have to write them down is the moment my mind goes blank. I didn’t put that many books on my list in the end, also to make it a bit easier on Candyce haha. Last year I gave her list of a mile long 😉 Looks like this year she’s making it hard on me haha.

The Poppy War – R.F. Kuang

As soon as I read the synopsis for The Poppy War I was interested in this one, and after all the raving reviews I put it at the top of my wishlist. I wanted to buy it when I was in London but unfortunately couldn’t find it. So now it’s on here!

Nevernight – Jay Kristoff

To be honest, I was never that interested in this one, and had read some negative reviews. But lately, I head nothing but praise for this series and I think I just need to find out for myself if it’s something I enjoy.

Fence vol 1 – C.S. Pacat

This is the only comic on my list, as they are usually pretty expensive and that means less books 😉  But it’s actually the cheapest one on the list haha! Fence sounds like a really great story and I’ve heard a lot of goods things about it. I’m really into sports so I’m excited to read a comic about fencing.

Fire Falling – Elise Kova

I really enjoyed Air Awakens, the first book in this series so I decided to put book 2 on my list. There are so many series on my shelves where I’ve only read the first or the first two books and that needs to change.

A Discovery of Witches – Deborah Harkness

I would love to watch the tv show based on this series, and the trailer looks amazing. But you know how it goes with bookworms, I need to read the book(s) first haha. so even though it’s a pretty expensive one I would love to add it to my collection.

The Bachman Books – Stephen King

I’ve recently started reading (or listening) Stephen King novels, but some of the ones I’m most interested in are ones he wrote under his pen name; Richard Bachman. This books collects three of those stories.

Six Stories – Matt Wesolowski

This thriller was mentioned on the booktube channel BooksandLala and I was immediately interested in it. It involves a podcast and sounds really cool!

So these are our wishlists for the Christmas boxes we plan on making for each other. Have you read any of these? What was your favorite?
