If you’ve been following the blog, you know I help moderate the Facebook group TBR & Beyond. There are always different events going on, like group reads. This month we also have The Princess Saves the Day event. I decided to write a post about my TBR (even though I never stick to one, haha).
The game is rather simple. Choose a princess and read books that match the prompts, so the princess can climb and save the day.
I don’t think I will be able to do all of the princesses, but I would like to try at least two. For this moment though, I’m only going to pick one. I know for sure that I’ll be reading these four. Sticking to a TBR isn’t something I’m good at. I rather pick as I go, haha.
For now I want to go for Belle and save the Beast. These are the books that I will be using for that:
Retellings: I will be reading our group read A Touch of Gold for this prompt. This is a King Midas retelling. To be honest, I don’t know much about this story, but I am excited to read this author’s take on it. The cover is stunning and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things!
Beautiful Cover: Another prompt to be filled by a group read this month. For a beautiful cover I will be reading The Light Between Worlds. I mean, look at the cover!! I have read some amazing reviews, but I have heard there are some trigger warnings. Not an easy read, but I think it’s going to be very interesting!
Badass Heroine: Kingdom of Ash will be the book I’m reading for this prompt. As I’m typing this, I’ve already read 100 pages. To read what the main character is going through and still staying strong, that is a badass heroine in my eyes!
Villain: I think this is the hardest one for me to figure out. This month I’m doing a reread of Lady Midnight and there is definitely a villain in this book. The way murders and such play out, I can’t think of any other way to describe that character than as a villain!
So these are my plans for this event. If you think this sounds like fun, make sure to join TBR & Beyond. The Princess Saves the Day Event is happening the whole month of November, so there’s still plenty of time to sign up!
