TTT #51 | Books I Wanted to Read This Halloween Season

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since last January Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Today’s prompt is a Halloween/Creepy Freebie so I decided to go with the Books I Wanted to Read This Halloween Season. I had so many reading plans and with just one day to go I think I can say those plans failed miserably haha. Some how it feels wrong to read these books in November although I’m sure I will read some of these before next years Halloween. Let’s take a look at the books I had wanted to read!

1.Little Monsters – Kara Thomas

I have wanted to read this book ever since Candyce and another friend of ours raved about it. It sounded like an amazing YA thriller and I like that it’s being compared to Pretty Little Liars. Also, love that cover! This one will be read soon, I’m sure of it.

2. S.T.A.G.S. – M.A. Bennett

This sounds like the perfect fall read and I’m quite sad that I haven’t picked it up yet. I also think it will be a very quick read so I might be able to read it in about a day or 2. Even though it doesn’t feel like it, November and most of December are still fall so I might pick it up next month.

3. All These Beautiful Strangers – Elizabeth Klefoth

So I feel like I’m cheating a bit here haha, I only bought this one last week! I got it to console myself because Kingdom of Ash was delivered to the bookstore yet when Candyce and I got there. But after we got lunch we saw they just had KoA delivered so I got it and started reading it right away. So this one didn’t really have a chance, but I do really want to read it soon, Candyce is getting it in either a swap or she’s getting herself so we’re doing a buddy read!

4. The Wrong Train – Jeremy de Quidt

I’m very ashamed I haven’t read this one yet, I picked it up in London put had put it down so I could read it in the Spook-a-thon. And then I just didn’t put it back up…

5. This Is Our Story – Ashley Elston

I wanted to read this for Halloween last year, and now this year. And I just know I will love this YA thriller. So I don’t know why I still haven’t read it, and do plan on doing so soon!

6. The Diviners – Libba Bray

This has been on my TBR for years!! And I want to read it so bad! I’m craving fantasy lately so this might be read in the next two months. It would be amazing if that happens, because this is one I think will be a 5 star read for me.

7. The Screaming Staircase – Jonathan Stroud

Another one that has been on my TBR for quite a while. I love MG books and after reading City of Ghosts I need more MG spooky reads. This will probably be a quick read so maybe I’ll pick this one up tonight 😉

8. Vassa in the Night – Sarah Porter

I got this book in one of my first bookboxes and planned on reading it right away. It’s been over 2 years and I still haven’t read it… This seems like a perfect Halloween read so it might have to wait until next year haha.

9. Monstress vol 3: Haven – Marjorie M. Liu

This is a very recent release and I wanted to read it right away. But I just ordered it today so it will be a little bit before I get it. As soon as I get it, I will start reading it though! The first two volumes was amazing and I’m so excited for this third volume.

10. Hunting Prince Dracula – Kerri Maniscalco

I already read about 50% of this one but really wanted to finish it before the month was done. Unfortunately I don’t think that will happen now haha, Kingdom of Ash was amazing but I think I need to read something light hearted first before I can get back into Hunting Prince Dracula. I was enjoying this one a lot so hopefully I can finish it this week!

What are some of the books you planned on reading this Halloween season? Did you get to all of them? And have you read any of my TTT? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Thank you! I hope they can live up to my expectations 😀

    1. Monstress is absolutely amazing! I can’t wait for the third volume to be in my hands 😀

  1. The Diviners has been on my wishlist for ages now, but the hardcover is soooo expensive 🙁 And I’d rather want the hardcover of course, lol. But I’m going to add the paperback to my wishlist instead because the price is just insane. Hunting prince Dracula sounds so awesome but I still need to read Stalking Jack the Ripper first to see if this author’s writing is something I like. If so, I’m definitely planning on buying the other books in this series as well.

    1. Good thing you waited for the Diviners, because there have been 3 cover changes at least and you would’ve gone crazy 😉 I honestly didn’t like Stalking Jack the Ripper that much but the title of the third book sounded so awesome that I decided to give the second one a try haha.
