TTT #49 | Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Need To Read

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since last January Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Today’s prompt for Top Ten Tuesday is Bookstores or libraries I’ve always wanted to visit. But to be honest, I don’t have a to-do list of bookstores and libraries. Whenever I travel somewhere I’ll look up some cool bookstores in that area but I don’t even do that all the times. So this prompt just didn’t feel like me, and sure I could look up some beautiful bookstores and libraries around the world but it kinda feels like lying to me. I had a quick peak at some previous TTT prompts, and since Candyce and I alternate for top ten tuesday I miss out on fun weeks a lot! So I decided to do a pretty recent prompt for you all today, and that is Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Need To Read.

When I picked this topic, I thought it was going to be so easy! But when I looked at my bookshelves I realized it was a bit harder than I anticipated haha. I have read all the books of most of my favorite authors (or so I thought) and I don’t have that many favorite authors. Some authors I do really enjoy, but if I have read only a really small portion of their books, it feel weird to call them favorites. For example, I have read the Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson, and I have a couple of his other books waiting on my shelves. I think he will be a future favorite, but I feel weird putting his books on this list. The other part is, I wanted to only include books that I already own. So these are all books by my favorite authors that I have on my shelves (and need to read asap!). After this long introduction, let’s get into it!

Catwoman – Sarah J Maas

This one hasn’t been out that long yet, but since Sarah J Maas is one of my absolute favorites ever, I feel like I should’ve picked it up by now. I have seen a lot of negative reviews unfortunately, so I’m not sure if I’ll like it. But obviously I want to see that for myself. Wonder Woman: Warbringer was a bit of a disappointment so I’m hoping I’ll like Catwoman better.

Vengeful – V.E. Schwab
Vengeful is even more of a recent release than Catwoman. But since I love VE Schwab and I’ve been looking forward to this book so much… It’s pretty weird that I haven’t finished it yet. I did start reading it and do hope to finish it this October.
Strange The Dreamer / Dreams of Gods & Monsters – Laini Taylor
I loved the first two books in the Daughter of Smoke & Bone series and it’s such a shame I haven’t picked up Dreams of Gods & Monsters yet. Especially since I remember less and less of the second book. I don’t want to pick up Strange the Dreamer before I finish the other series. But I have heard so many goods things about that book, so I hope to get to both soon.
All the Crooked Saints – Maggie Stiefvater
The Raven Boys series is another absolute favorite of mine. And I got All The Crooked Saints months ago. I had every intention of picking it up right away, but somehow I never did. To be honest, I’m not that sure that this book will be my thing, but I couldn’t resist a book by Maggie.
Origin – Dan Brown
This is probably a weird one for a lot of people, but I really enjoy Dan Brown’s books. I have read all of them and I bought Origin pretty shortly after the release. It has been a while since I read my last Dan Brown but I always enjoy them a lot. They are a great guilty pleasure!
Flame in the Mist – Renee Ahdieh
The Wrath and The Dawn is one of my favorite books and a great duology. Ever since reading those books, I’m a fan of Renee Ahdieh’s work. Flame in the Mist doesn’t score that well, and a lot of people seem disappointed by it. Since I already own it I’m definitely going to read it, and hope that everyone else is wrong haha.
His Majesty’s Dragon / Spinning Silver – Naomi Novik
Uprooted is one of my all time favorite fantasy books and I’m so glad to have Spinning Silver. I hope to read this one during a cold winter day and I hope I’ll love it as much as I loved Uprooted. For quite awhile now, I’ve had His Majesty’s Dragon on my shelves, I think I came across this one because of Uprooted. I can’t even remember what it’s about but the title sounds cool.
Heartless – Marissa Meyer
The Lunar Chronicles are really great and highly enjoyable books. Heartless has been in my possession for about two years now and I’ve been about to pick it up so any times! But somehow I always ended up picking another one. The story really intrigues me and I’ve heard so many wonderful things about it.
The Unexpected Everything – Morgan Matson
For this one I’m cheating a little bit. I have only read Since You’ve Been Gone, but that was an incredible and relatable book so I decided to add Morgan Matson to my favorite list. The Unexpected Everything sounds like a cute and fun book, but I’ll probably wait until spring or summer before I pick this one up.
The Language of Thorns – Leigh Bardugo
And last, but definitely not least, The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo. After Six of Crows Leigh Bardugo shot up my favorite list. I didn’t love the first Grisha trilogy but I did very much love Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom. The Language of Thorns has all kinds of Grisha fairytales and I love that idea a lot. I did reading it at one point and I hope to pick it back up soon.
So these are 10 (or 12) of the books by my favorite authors that I still need to read (and I already own). Have you read any of these? And what are some of the books by your favorite authors you still need to read? Let me know in the comments!
