In September I reviewed the first book in this duology, Every Breath You Take. That book had me on the edge of my seat, so I was so excited when I got my hands on an ARC of Take My Breath Away. It released on Monday and deserves a lot of attention! Keep reading to find out what I thought of this book!
All I wanted to do was love her.
I couldn’t break her when she’d finally been put back together…when she was finally mine.
I was a coward, a bigger a**hole than her ex-husband, a more selfish pr*ck than her brother.
But London didn’t know that.
She only saw me as the man who would give her the world, the man who owned her heart.
And even though the confession burned the tip of my tongue and begged to be spit out and set free, I couldn’t do it.
Not yet…I needed to hold on to this lie for just a little while longer to keep her safe.
Review
Take My Breath Away is the second book in the Every Breath duology. London had gone through a lot in the first book and it doesn’t stop there.
I loved that we got a little clue at the end of Every Breath You Take about what was going to happen in this book, but that we didn’t start at the point. I loved that we built up to what was going to happen. Once again I could so relate to London being close to her mother. I can’t imagine what it’s like seeing your mother sick like that (and I hope I never have to). Sam was the hero in this story and I loved him just as much as the first book.
That’s when things get interesting. Hunter (London’s ex-husband) and her brother come back, because things are bad. We learn that things didn’t go the way London really thought and there is trouble coming. This story was told from London’s and Sam’s POV and that really built the suspense in this book gradually. Just when I was wondering if something was going to happen, this story took a turn I never expected.
If you’re looking for a romance with an amazing bookboyfriend, suspense, humor and plottwists you don’t see coming, this duology is for you. This book shows us that love doesn’t always mean happy ending, but loving someone can mean letting go.
The epilogue we got in Take My Breath Away was everything I was hoping for! I loved how this story ended. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
I’m starting to realize that I like romances with a little thrill to them. Have you ever read anything by Faith Andrews? What did you think?
