As you all may know, I was in London last week! I enjoyed it so so much, we had the most wonderful time. And of course I spend loads of money haha, I bought a lot of new clothes but I obviously also got my hands on some new books <3 So today I would love to share those new beauties with you all. Let’s take a look at the newest additions to my collection in this London haul.
Catwoman – Sarah J. Maas
This was one that was on my London list actually haha. I saw some people got this one at Waterstones and that they got a signed edition, well with a signed bookplate, so I hoped they would still have some in stock. And luckily they did! I love Sarah’s other books so I’m very excited to pick this one up. Unfortunately I still haven’t read Wonder Woman yet and I do kinda feel like I should read that one first… But it hopefully won’t be long ’till I pick this one up.
City of Ghosts – Victoria Schwab
Another one that was on my list! I love Victoria Schwab and the premise of this book sounded wonderful. And look at that beauty of a cover <3 It’s ever more beautiful in person. I really enjoy MG novels and this one sounded just spooky enough for me. The moment I got it. I started reading it and I finished it in no time. Such a great MG book and I’m extremely excited for the sequel.
The Wrong Train – Jeremy de Quindt
I hadn’t heard of this book, but the title sounded interesting. Dumb dumb me forgot to take a picture but the cover was pretty intriguing as well! And when I read the synopsis I knew I couldn’t put it back down. I actually did start reading it already but I’m putting it down for now so I can read it in October for a readathon Candyce and I are participating in.
The Secret Deep – Lindsay Galvin
Another one I hadn’t heard of and also apparently a MG novel. This one grabbed my attention because it’s signed by the author haha. Yes I’m a total sucker for signed books, as you will soon realize haha. The story sounded pretty interesting and I like to get books at the bookstore that I haven’t heard of. This is such a difference from online shopping where I’m usually looking for specific books instead of browsing the aisles.
Spinning Silver – Naomi Novik
The moment I saw this one was signed I knew I couldn’t wait for the Dutch translation. I really love Uprooted and wanted these books to match so I planned on waiting for the Dutch version. But since I read mostly English it does make sense to just go for this one. And especially for a good price and with the signature in there! I hope to read this one very soon.
Orphan Monster Spy – Matt Killeen
Look at that gorgeous cover! I was already interested in this one as I like to read World War novels and this is also a spy novel. But when I saw that cover, and the sticker that says signed, I knew I had to get this one. I haven’t read it yet and haven’t read any reviews for it either. It simply sounds like my kind of book and I hope I will enjoy it a lot.
White Rabbit Red Wolf – Tom Pollock
I hadn’t heard of this one but pretty cover + signed by author sticker = instabuy! And honestly, can you blame me? The main character in this book has schizophrenia I believe and I’m very interested in seeing how this is portrayed. Since I studied psychology I’m very curious about books like these. I really hope it can live up to my expectations.
The Fix vol 1 – Nick Spencer
I was just looking at the graphic novels at Forbidden Planet and decided they were to expensive compared to online shops when my friend pulled me around the corner. There we saw signed graphic novels! Most of them were in the middle of series and never the volume I was at in a series, so I was getting quite set before my eye caught this one. The Fix has been on my wishlist for quite a while so I’m super excited to finally have it. I must admit, I have been to scared to take the plastic of it haha. So this photo isn’t the best, but you can see they included some kind of illustration card and that is signed. Pretty cool right?
So this is my London haul, pretty decent right? I didn’t go crazy in the book department (might’ve gone a bit crazy in the clothes department haha) and I already read 1 book. So my TBR didn’t grow thát much haha. Did you read any of these books? Let me know about them in the comments!
