Monthly Monday | A Book You Keep On Rereading

A friend of ours, Kwante, from Kwante in Wonderland created the Monthly Monday Book Shelfie. Every month there is a new topic. Continue reading to find out what the Monthly Monday Book Shelfie is and what to do if you want to participate! This month’s theme is a book you keep on rereading.

What standalone should have a sequel? After you think of the book you want to use, you do the following:

  • You take a book shelfie – the book you chose in front of the other books on your shelf.

After that you answer the following questions:

  • Where did you get the book?
  • Have you read the book yet?
  • What did you think of the book? If you haven’t read the book yet, what do you expect?

Rereading is something I really need to let myself do more. I always feel guilty for rereading books when I have so many unread books on my shelf. I enjoy diving in a world again and noticing the little details I missed the first time around.

Where did you get the book? I actually go the first four books in this series from my mother for Christmas. Throne of Glass was a series I kept hearing about, but hadn’t gotten around to getting yet.

Have you read the book yet? Well a book I keep rereading is one I have already read of course, haha. To prepare for the release of KoA, Isabelle and I are rereading the whole Throne of Glass series. It’s the third time I will be reading the first four books and the second time reading the last two.

Keep an eye on the blog in October. We will be doing a whole Throne of Glass week. The reviews of all the books will be posted and a few other fun things!

What did you think of the book? I love this series and the whole world Throne of Glass takes place in! I am still amazed by how many little details we as readers aren’t aware of the first time around. Forgetting certain events is something that happens over time as well. So I’m really glad we’re doing a reread before the last book is released!

There is honestly only one book(series) that came to mind the moment I saw this question: Harry Potter. I don’t even know how many times I’ve read the books, I used to reread this series all the time. Before the next installment would release I’d reread all of them and usually did a reread right after I finished the new book as well. But even after all the books were out I haven’t stopped rereading them. I listened to all of them in January/February and listened to the first one again last month haha.

Where did you get the book? You might’ve noticed that this is actually a picture from Candyce’s bookshelf. I’m on a holiday and forgot to take a picture at home! I’ll stick to the first book I have a Dutch edition that I got from my parents years and years ago. The illustrated edition was a Christmas gift from my parents, the Ravenclaw edition was part of a bookswap. And the French edition I got myself in France last year. I’m ashamed to admit I don’t own a regular English copy but do really want to buy the editions with Hogwarts on the spines!

Have you read the book yet? I already talked about this in detail 😉

What did you think of the book? This series will forever be my favorite thing in the world and I will keep on rereading the books always and forever. I can’t wait till I have kids and get to indoctrinate them as well haha.

What books do you keep on rereading? What do you love about diving back into your favorite books?
