Kendall Ryan is a writing machine and has given us another amazing book: Love Machine! This book was released on Monday and today I am here to share my review. Did Kendall Ryan give us a fun friends to lovers romance? Keep reading to find out!
A best-friends-to-lovers standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan.
She says she needs some help … in the bedroom.
Come again? No, really come again.
Sweet, nerdy, lovable Keaton.
She’s my best friend and has been for years. Sure she likes numbers and math, and thinks doing other people’s taxes is fun. And I like … none of that stuff. She’s obsessed with her cat and reads novels I’ll never understand, and yet we just click. There’s no one I’d rather share breakfast burritos with or binge watch hours Netflix. She’s my person. And so when she takes off her glasses and asks me to help her improve her skills in the bedroom, I barely have to think about it.
Of course I’ll help her. There’s no one better for the job.
I’ve been there for her through everything, why should this be any different?
But what happens when she’s ready to take her new-found confidence and move on?

Review
Cover This is definitely a cover we’re used to when it comes to books from this author. After reading about Slate, I can definitely see this model as this character.
Plot Kendall Ryan is good at giving us romances with a lot of humor and sexy/romantic moments. She didn’t disappoint with Love Machine. Keaton goes to a party and when they play games, she realizes she needs help in the bedroom. Who better to help her than her best friend Slate? What starts off with him helping her find the perfect guy, ends up with him being her teacher. They make a deal, after the lessons they will go back to being friends. But its that possible? Even though they’re opposites, it’s clear that they click. Slate and Keaton will do just about everything for each other. The fact that Slate performs a huge gesture when it comes to Keaton’s cat is just the sweetest thing ever. I loved how determinde Keaton was to get better in bed, haha. I am a big fan of friends to lovers romances and this has to be one of my favorites now. Love Machine is a fast and fun read that leaves you wanting more from these characters. It’s fun that she made these characters so oblivioous to what everyone was already noticing. They say it’s good to fall in love with your best friend. I guess in some cases it really does work.
Characters Keaton is actually really relatable. She loves cats and reading. Keaton can be happy sitting at home with numbers and taxes, or even a good book. The party she goes to makes her wonder about her skills in bed and she comes to the conclusion she needs to improve. This conclusion makes her wonder if this is why she’s still single. While drunk, she asks Slate for help, but never expected him to actually help. I loved Keaton, because she is the type that even made a spreadsheet to check off the skills she needs to work on. This made me laugh out loud. I love how much she tries fighting her feelings for Slate, but just can’t fight it. Keaton becomes more confident and eventually accepts the feelings she’s developed.
Slate isn’t the type for serious realtionships. He is up for some fun, but nothing more. Slate has been hurt before and this is the easiest way to avoid this happening again. Keaton is his best friend and he doesn’t know why, but they click. He can talk to her about anthing and even the idea of him helping her improve her skills in bed doesn’t seem too terrible. This is the case until Slate realizes how much they actually click. Slate is scared of taking this risk of opening up again, but if he does this with someone, his best friend is the perfect person right? Slate is a very sweet amd romantic guy, who feels a lot more than he realizes. He learns to really love.
