This year is flying by, so we decided to look back on the last six months. Today’s Wishlist Wednesday is about 2018 releases we still want to get. There are plenty of releases that will be coming out the last six months of 2018, but you will see those in our anticipated releases posts!
Ship It – Britta Lundin This book is so cute! I think this is a story I’m going to love and you should see the naked hardcover. It’s amazing!! I definitely plan on adding this one to my collection this year.
Blood of a Thousand Stars – Rhoda Belleza Last year I read the first book. It was definitely a cover buy and this one looks just as pretty. Reading it, I was a bit disappointed, becasue I didn’t know there would be a sequel. So I think I will read the first one again when this one has been added on my shelf.
Ace of Shades – Amanda Foody Ace of Shades is a pretty hyped book this year. I have read a lot of good reviews, but also some mixed ones as well. I still think this will be a book for me and I love this cover. That’s one thing about this year, a lot of amazing covers!
Lizzie – Dawn Ius A Lizzie Borden retelling! I normally don’t like these types of books, but I do love trying new things for creepy reads. In October I like to get in a Halloween mood and this seems like the perfect book to start off with.
Royals – Rachel Hawkins As a big fan of contemporary, this seems like a really cute read. I love pink, so this cover is perfect. I’m actually surprised I haven’t gotten this one yet, haha.
A Reaper at the Gates – Sabaa Tahir This is a June release and one I really want! And now that there are these UK covers, I am sold. I may need a reread though, because it’s been quite awhile since I read the second book. There was quite an amount of time between the release of the second book and this one!
#Prettyboy Must Die – Kimberly Reid
So the reviews aren’t that great for this one, but I didn’t expect them to be. I think this will be a funny, silly book and somehow I just really want to read it haha. It would be even better if I found this on my audiobook service as that wouldn’t cost me any money but I would still get to enjoy this.
Orphan Monster Spy – Matt Killeen
It’s been a while since I read a World War II book and that’s such a shame. I used to really enjoy those books and this looks like a great one. It has a pretty decent rating and that cover is so stunning.
Sky in the Deep – Adrienne Young
A couple of my friends have read this book and every single one of them absolutely loved it. The synopsis sounded great when I first saw it and it still does. Hopefully I’ll be able to add this one to my collection soon, and read it right after 😉
The Window – Amelia Brunskill
Isn’t that cover absolutely amazing?! That cover alone makes me want to buy and read it right now. I heard this one mention quite a lot lately and I already had it in my hands a couple of times. This might be one I’ll get towards October as I find that the perfect time of year to read thrillers like this.
The Poppy War – R.F. Kuang
This one is so high up on my wishlist! I’ve read a couple of raving reviews and this book sounds like something I would really really love. The cover is so stunning and right up my alley as well. I will be so disappointed if I don’t like this book haha, but I first need to get it! And hopefully that’ll happen soon.
Snotgirl vol 2: California Screaming – Bryan Lee O’Malley
I really enjoyed the first volume of Snotgirl and after that cliffhanger I NEED the second volume. When we were in Amsterdam last week we actually looked at this one but since it’s so new it was still pretty expansive. It’s a good thing I didn’t just finish the first volume or I wouldn’t have been able to resist, I will get it but I just want to wait till the prices drop a little bit.
LifeL1k3 – Jay Kristoff
Another wonderful cover! And this one has great reviews as well. Some reviewers I trust absolutely loved this book. I haven’t read any books by Jay himself, just his collaboration with Amie Kaufman and that trilogy I adored. This seems like a book I would really enjoy and I hope to add it to the collection soon.
Neverworld Wake – Marisha Pessl
I’m currently reading Night Film by Marisha Pessl and while it’s taking me a while (it’s massive!) I’m really enjoying the story. After reading the synopsis of Neverworld Wake I knew that was something I needed to read as well. I’m not 100% sure if I’ll enjoy this one but I would love to give it a try!
2018 has been a year full of amazing releases so far! What is a book that has been released in the past six months that you can’t wait to get your hands on?
