June is officially over and it’s time to show you all what books we got this month! Did we add a lot to our collections? Or were we good? Take a look!
Candyce
June was a slow book month when it comes to books that I added to my collection. I added a total of four books. It’s important to me to start tackling my TBR, so the less I add, the better. Not adding new books is hard though, when so many interesting books are being released! Let’s take a look at what I got.
Legendary – Stephanie Garber
This is the anticipated sequel to Caraval. Caraval wasn’t my favorite book, but it was good enough to make me want more. I wasn’t as big of a fan of the surprise covers this time around, so I didn’t go for those. I do love this cover though. A lot of people are saying it’s even better than Caraval, so I can’t wait to find out.
Tell Me No Lies – A.V. Geiger
Tell Me No Lies is one of my most anticipated releases of this year. I was surprised to get this in June though. Even though it’s a June release, the website I order from told me it wasn’t available until July 5th. It was a pleasant surprise when it was sent earlier. I can tell you I already read it and really enjoyed it!
My Plain Jane – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows
Another anticipated book that is finally out!! We both read My Lady Jane in January and were upset with ourselves that we waited so long. I am really hoping that this one is just as good or even better. I have read the first couple of pages and it starts off really good. I plan on reading this in July, so keep an eye out for a review!
Reign of the Fallen – Sarah Glenn Marsh
While I was typing this, I realized I forgot the picture of this book. No worries, Isabelle bought it as well and can show you the book, haha. I already read this and really enjoyed it. The second book will be released next year and I will definitely buy it!
Isabelle
This was a pretty decent month for me! I only got 7 new books, two of which I already read, 2 I’m currently reading and 1 I’m about to start. Not so bad at all. There are some gorgeous books in this haul so let’s take a look!
Reign of the Fallen – Sarah Glenn Marsh
I already talked about this book in detail in my last #howimetmybook so I won’t spend too much time on it here. This unique YA fantasy novel was on of the group reads in the facebook group TBR and Beyond and there was a live chat with the author this month so obviously I needed the book haha. I’m currently reading it and am really enjoying the world.
Night Film – Marisha Pessl
I started listening to Night Film, but quickly realized this book might be easier to read as a physical copy. So I ordered the book, looked at some pictures and then continued to listen to it haha. I’m still listening to it but might still continue with the physical book.
Legendary – Stephanie Garber
I own one of those gorgeous editions of Caraval so naturally I had to get one of the Legendary one’s as well. Caraval was a bit of a disappointing read for me but I hope I’ll enjoy Legendary more.
The Wicked + The Divine vol 1 – Kieron Gillen & Jamie McKelvie
This graphic novel is one of the books I read this month. You might have seen it in the wrap up yesterday. The Wicked + The Divine had been on my list for a while and I was happy to finally buy and read it. Hope to get my hands on volume 2 soon.
Tell Me No Lies – A.V. Geiger
Tell Me No Lies was one of my most anticipated releases and I started reading it as soon as I got my hands on it. This was the second book I already finished and was included in the wrap up. Really enjoyable book and it’s so satisfying to own and have read a whole series, even though it’s only a duology haha.
My Plain Jane – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows
Another one of my highly anticipated releases! This is the book I’ll be starting any day now. I’m super excited for it and hope it’s as magical and funny as My Lady Jane was. Candyce and I will both be reading this one so you can expect a buddy review on it, hopefully soon.
Grace and Fury – Tracy Banghart
This beauty was included in the Fairyloot this month. Definitely a book I’m interested in but probably not one I would buy for myself. Does that make sense? I really need to start reading the books I get in my Fairyloots!
This is our June bookhaul! What did you buy this month? Anything we need to check out?
Awesome haul! 😀
Thank you! We are very happy with our hauls!
