We were looking for something to post on Sundays when we don’t have anything planned. Then I saw a post on Early Bookish Bird‘s blog and it seemed like the perfect fit. She started #howimetmybook so we’re alternating between #howimetmybook and Down the TBR hole on Sundays from now on! Today I will be posting about how I met Archie Volume 1: The New Riverdale by Mark Waid.
In this post we tell the story behind our books. The following questions will be answered: Where did we get the book? Why did we pick it up? What made us pick it up in the first place?
Archie Volume 1: The New Riverdale is a comic I bought at Forbidden Planet when I was in London. I have been a fan of Archie comics since I was little. My mother used to by the double digests at the supermarket. When it was announced there was going to be a new show produced in this world: Riverdale, I was very excited. They changed a lot in this world, but I am loving it.
While we wait for new episodes, I decided that I needed to read the new comics as well. This one is going to be a great start, I think so anyways. The drawing style has changed a lot, but looks amazing! Another little fun fact for this post while we’re talking about Archie. A couple of years ago my boyfriend suprised me with a big book filled with Archie comics. This book is filled with all the Archie comics from 1946 to 1948.
Here you can see how different the drawing style looks. Even the characters all look really different. There are a lot more newer comics available than I knew about, so I know what I need to start collecting.
Are any of you fans of Archie or Riverdale? The comic or the TV show? I would love to be able to fangirl with other Archie fans!
Didn’t realise it was based on a comic!! Great post 💕
I think a lot of people don’t know that it’s based off of an older comic.
Thanks 💖
I read the Archie comics when I was younger. I need to pick up the new ones because I love Riverdale.
I loved the older comics, but these are fun as well.
