Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 345 (I don’t think I have actually managed to get this number lower than the previous post, haha)
Once again, I noticed that I am good at putting the whole serie as “want to read” in one go. So today will be a bit boring again unfortunately, haha. Sorry!
S.E.C.R.E.T. Shared – L. Marie Adeline
Last time I removed the first one. I don’t even remember if I was actually able to find the English description. Once again, a membership for a club to figure out your fantasies. No thank you. That doesn’t sound like a story that I will enjoy.
Remove
Not Another Bad Date – Rachel Gibson
Not Another Bad Date is from the time I was reading nothing but chicklits, haha. I really enjoyed this writer, but I don’t read many of these books anymore. For people who do enjoy reading these. This book definitely sounds like the perfect book to read on the beach.
Remove
Tangled Up in You – Rachel Gibson
Tangled Up in You is from the same series as the previous book I just talked about. This one is pretty easy then. While I definitely enjoyed these books a few years ago, I don’t see myself reading them anytime in the near future.
Remove
Nine’s Legacy – Pittacus Lore
I am Number Four was a book I really enjoyed and finished in one sitting basically. Once again, I thought the book was better than the movie, haha. Nine’s Legacy is a book in the same world. I know my boyfriend loved some of these books, so I think I will keep this one around for now. I don’t know if I will get to it anytime soon though.
Keep
The Power of Six – Pittacus Lore
Again, another series in the world of I am Number Four (I warned I was a bit boring this week, haha). This isn’t from the same series as Nine’s Legacy, but in the same world. Once again, I will keep this one around for now. Maybe I will get to it in the future (I know my boyfriend has quite a few of these author’s books)
Keep
The Rise of Nine – Pittacus Lore
If I kept Nine’s Legacy, then I guess I need to keep The Rise of Nine, haha. There isn’t much more to say about these, except I don’t know why I haven’t seen the first book on my “want to read” list.
Keep
Six’s Legacy – Pittacus Lore
Okay, I found the first book in the series that Nine’s Legacy belongs to. If I am keeping the others, I guess this one stays along for the ride as well.
Keep
The Fallen Legacies – Pittacus Lore
This Down the TBR Hole is starting to even be a bit boring for me, haha. Once again I will keep this one around. I am curious to see how this series ended up turning out.
Keep
The Search for Sam – Pittacus Lore
I can’t believe this book has been around for six years and I still haven’t gotten around to reading these. Then I start wondering if I will ever get around to reading them. At least this is only a digital list. I can change it anytime I want.
Keep
The Last Days of Lorien – Pittacus Lore
Last but not least, The Last Days of Lorien. I noticed this is only like 100 pages. If all of these are like that I probably could finish them faster than I thought. I will have to check that out.
Keep
Removal percentage: 30%
Current to read shelf: 342
This week’s removal percentage isn’t good, haha. I don’t see myself managing to keep this number the way it is until next time. Next time will be a lot of the same author again, but at least the books are standalones. That could make it a bit more interesting. At least I can say that I don’t add a series/author like this anymore! So it will eventually get better, haha. Have you read anything by Pittacus Lore? Do you agree with keeping the books on my list? Or are they not worth my time? I would love to hear from you.
I honestly need to do this, but I can’t get rid of the books since they are all ebooks. And getting rid of them is illegal. Therefore, it’s not making much sense to go down tbr hole right?
That depends :). Some of the books we have on the want to read list aren’t books that we own. And even if you can’t get rid of them completely it might feel good to clean up your Goodreads list!
