A friend of ours, Kwante, from Kwante in Wonderland created the Monthly Monday Book Shelfie. Every month there is a new topic. Continue reading to find out what the Monthly Monday Book Shelfie is and what to do if you want to participate!
This month’s theme is our newest book. What was the newest book you added to your collection? After you think of the book you want to use, you do the following:
- You take a book shelfie – the book you chose in front of the other books on your shelf.
After that you answer the following questions:
- Where did you get the book?
- Have you read the book yet?
- What did you think of the book? If you haven’t read the book yet, what do you expect?
Where did you get this book? As usual I ordered this book on a website here in The Netherlands, haha. Where most of my books come from!
Have you read the book yet? No, I haven’t read this book yet. This month there is a middelgrade event going on in TBR & Beyond (a bookish Facebook group) and I bought it to read for that. So, I am hoping to read The Magic Misfits before the end of the month. Once again, I have many books to read, haha. We’ll see if I am able to get to it!
What do you expect? I am expecting a cute, fast and fun story. There are a few members of the group who have read this and loved it. So I have a feeling I will as well. While I was flipping through the book I noticed a lot of cute chapter names (in the table of contents) and pictures.
Where did you get the book? I feel so boring right now haha! This book also came from the Dutch website Candyce used. Whenever I want a book fast I’ll order it there. And this was one of the books I got to get signed at YalfestNL. So I needed it ASAP haha.
Did you read it yet? No 🙁 This book has been on my radar for so long but somehow I never bought it. And there was no way I would get to all the Yalfest books in about 3 days so that was too bad. After Yalfest I had other books that were a priority but this is definitely one I want to read soon.
What do you expect from this book? I have pretty high expectations for this one actually! Taran was such a great guy, he was really nice and it was so fun to hear him talk about his books. That always makes me really excited to start a book and I think I have a more positive attitude towards a book after meeting (and liking) the author. I expect an great fantasy world, a magical school (Yes please!) and an interesting main character.
Those are our most recent additions to our collections. What book did you recently add? We never mind some new bookish tips, haha. And did you read one or both of these books? Let us know in the comments!
