We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since last January Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books I’d Slay a Lion to Get Early. So many books I could think of for this one!! For this week I decided on a mix of books coming out this year and books that may take years to release. I love talking about books I’m anticipating so lets dive in!
10. The Winds of Winter / A Dream of Spring – George RR Martin
Now to be honest, I’m not even sure we will ever get these books…. But I so desperately want these books and I want them RIGHT NOW haha. Especially since we already got the seventh season of the tv-show, which will probably encompass the content of The Winds of Winter. And while we will get an (satisfying) ending with the tv-show there are some storylines that didn’t make it to the tv screen and I want to know what will happen with those characters as well!
9. Bloodwitch – Susan Dennard
I really enjoyed the first two books in the series and I’m pretty sad that ‘all’ we got this year is a novella haha. I can’t wait for the third book (and #4 and #5 probably). Windwitch had some plot twists I did not see coming and I need to know what happens next!
8. Threads of Power #1 – V.E. Schwab
As of now there is no book title or cover or publication date or even publication year so getting my hands on this would be insane haha. This series will be a spin off of the Shades of Magic trilogy, a beloved series of mine! The last book hinted at a possible spin off and I’m so happy we will get it.
7. Ronan Lynch spin off #1 – Maggie Stiefvater
Another favorite series of mine is the Raven Boys series and one of my fav characters is Ronan Lynch. You can probably imagine how happy I was to learn we’re getting a spin off centered on him. This is another book without any hint of the publication date but I hope we won’t have to wait too long!
6. My Plain Jane – Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, & Brodi Ashton
I can’t believe it took me so long to read My Lady Jane! On the other hand, I had less of a wait than the readers that got to it right away haha. After watching The White Queen and The White Princess I have been really craving historical fiction and I just know this will be an amazing one! I really love this cover, even though I usually don’t like people on covers. It just goes so well with the other cover and I’m glad we just have to wait 2 more months.
5.Wildcard – Marie Lu
There is no cover for this one yet but I’m hoping that it will be as stunning as the Warcross cover with matching naked hardback. I ended up enjoying Warcross a lot more than I expected and after those plot twists I need MORE! So I can’t wait until September and I can get my hands on this book. Hopefully this sequel won’t disappoint.
4. Tell Me No Lies – A.V. Geiger
I got Follow Me Back for my birthday from Candyce and I read it in one sitting. This book was really enjoyable and a bit creepy. But I didn’t see that ending coming, we got a really disturbing cliffhanger and I once again NEED to know what is going on. Luckily this book comes out at the start of June so we’ll be able to continue the story soon.
3. King of Scars – Leigh Bardugo
This stunning cover was just released yesterday! Isn’t it gorgeous? I’m so excited for this duology. Nikolai is one of my absolute favorite characters in the Grisha universe and I’m so excited for this duology centered on him. This book comes out January 2019 and I’m not sure I can wait that long…. I want my Nikolai now now now! I love Leigh’s writing and I adore the Grishaverse. This is clearly one of my most anticipated reads.
2. Two Dark Reigns – Kendare Blake
Okayyyyy, talking about stunning covers… Isn’t this one gorgeous? I love all the books we got in this series so far and it can’t be September soon enough. There was só much happening in the last couple of chapters of One Dark Throne that I am so so so much looking forward to TDR. At this moment there is probably only one book I’m anticipating more and that is:
1. Kingdom of Ash – Sarah J. Maas
I would give alll of my money to get my hands on this one early! I have been looking forward to this book since the moment I read Throne of Glass. This is one of my all time favorite series and you might know that Candyce and I started our reread of the whole series last month. We just finished The Assassin’s Blade and will shortly start Throne of Glass. I have very high expectations for this book, especially after the epic-ness of Tower of Dawn. Let’s just hope this book will be as good as the rest of the series and will be a worthy finale.
If someone is feeling generous, any of these books would do and I will forever love you 😉 What book would you slay a lion for to get your hands on early? Let me know in the comments!
Yes for My Plain Jane and Wildcard !
So excited for those books! Hope they can live up to my expectations
I’m dying for Threads of Power and the Ronan Lynch spin-off!
I hope we get some information SOON!
We are in the same boat with the threads of power
I just know it will be epic <3
