It’s Thursday so it’s time for another tag! I found this Wonder Woman Book tag on Melany’s blog and thought it would be a fun one to do today. The tag was created by Amber from Amber’s Books and More. And now, let’s get into it!
Wonder Woman: your favorite badass female book character
Manon from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas is one of my favorite book characters ever and she is SO BADASS! I love her and own multiple character candles haha. I can not wait until we get the last book, Kingdom of Ash, and I hope for a perfect ending for Manon.
Fantasy Island: a book setting you want to escape to
This answer will probably surprise no one… Hogwarts! And with the app that came out this week I kind of can now! Did you get the app yet? Isn’t it amazing? My dream will forever be for Hogwarts to be real (and for me to go there obviously, would be even worse if it was real and I just didn’t get in…)
London: a hyped book that let you down
Caraval by Stephanie Garber was super hyped and everyone seemed to love it so I had really high expectations for it. Unfortunately when I got around to reading it, I just didn’t love it as everyone else seemed to do, I did like it but it was nowhere near as good as I expected it to be.
Steve Trevor: A book that has a beautiful cover and a great story (i.e. good personality)
I love the original cover for The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, at least I think these are the original covers. Really stunning cover that was part of the reason I even picked up the book in the first place. And I’m so happy I did! I absolutely loved this book, so much more than I was expecting to love it to be honest.
Lasso of Truth: a book you hated
I don’t tend to HATE books that I read, I went and looked at my ratings on Goodreads and apparently I don’t have a 1 star reviews! I might be a bit more critical now but I guess I (kinda) liked the books I read at the time. A book that I rated with 2 stars but really disliked is Wink, Poppy, Midnight. Such a disappointment and a weird ending. Not the book for me apparently!
Wonder Woman’s Shield: a book so sad, you need a shield
History is all you left me by Adam Silvera, or They Both Die at the End for that matter… Both those books had me sobbing for quite a while. And I read History on the plane so everyone there saw me crying over my phone haha, I really wonder what they were thinking of me. If they knew I was reading an Adam Silvera book I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have been surprised 😉
Ares: a villain that is scary, but you can’t seem to hate them
I love Aiden from the Illuminae Files series! I’m not sure if ‘it’ is technically a villain but I for sure don’t hate Aiden. This AI makes some really scary choices but my logical brain can definitely see why those choices would make sense and I really enjoy Aiden for that.
The Amazons: a book you wish had more/better LGBT+ representation
I think a lot of books could use more LGBT+ representation but I would especially love to see it in fantasy books were it’s just there without it being the main focus of the story. For example, I absolutely adore The School for Good and Evil but it would be such a great message to middle grade readers if there were some LGBT+ couples in there.
Justice League: what superhero friends do you tag?
I tag:
Kathy from Books & Munches
Michelle from Firstbooklove
Karen Jo from Sincerely KarenJo
And anyone else that feels like doing this tag <3
