How I Met My Book #10|The Exact Opposite of Okay – Laura Steven

We were looking for something to post on Sundays when we don’t have anything planned. Then I saw a post on Early Bookish Bird‘s blog and it seemed like the perfect fit. She started #howimetmybook so we’re alternating between #howimetmybook and Down the TBR hole on Sundays from now on!

In this post we tell the story behind our books. The following questions will be answered: Where did we get the book? Why did we pick it up? What made us pick it up in the first place?

Today we are meeting this amazing author, so I had to choose her book for my How I Met My Book today! The book I chose is The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven.

This book is pretty new, it was released in March. This is the debut book by this author and I found out about it, because of YALFest (a small bookfestival here in The Netherlands). Laura Steven was announced as one of the authors and of course the book. The cover looked amazing and the sypnosis sounded good as well.

Another friend of ours found out there was a chance to be a part of Laura Steven’s street team and I thought that was cool, so I joined. After joining, I found out how sweet this author is and how thankful she was for our help. We had the chance to read the book first and I got an ARC.

All I can say is that this book is SO amazing! Laura Steven has a wonderful way with words and had me laughing out loud and crying with the main character. I couldn’t put it down. If you want to know more about this book, we posted our buddy review last month, you can find it here. Every teenager should read this book, boys and girls included! This book has such an important message.

Another example of how sweet this author is, is this. Being a part of her street team and doing certain challenges, we could win things. This was my little package. So Sweet!!

What do you think? Is this a book you would pick up? Or have you already read it? I would love to know what you thought of this book if you have!
