A couple weeks ago I participated in the blog tour for Then There Was You, the first book in The Second Chances Duet. The second book My Way Back to You came out two weeks later and I read that one as well. Today I am back again with a spot on the blog tour for the second book. Once again, I am very grateful I received an ARC to review this book. Thanks again!
Love isn’t always about timing.
Sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind and roll with it.
I admit I wasn’t ready.
I know you don’t want to look at me, let alone talk to me, but please, let me explain.
Let me tell you all the ways my heart broke when you walked away.
Let me show you what our years apart have done to me.
Give me a chance to find my way back to you . . .

Review
Cover I love the colors on this cover and that both of them match in this duology. The cover definitely does show some of the emotion we get in these books.
Plot This book starts quite awhile after the cliffhanger we get in the first book. It takes awhile to find out if everything was like they said it was at the end of Then There Was You. During the first few chapters a lot of time is skipped and I found this quite annoying. While I understand why the author may have chose to do this, I think a lot of little details that could’ve been important were left out. Tessa really annoyed me while I read this book. While I get she was scared of many things, I never think it’s right to hide a child from their father. Unless there will be abuse, I don’t think it’s right. I loved her family and Sam. Miles was so adorable as well. He was the cutest thing. Rowan was once again an interesting book boyfriend, but it was very clear that he grew during the time in the book. His way of thinking started to change and he slowly starte realizing that work wasn’t the only thing in the world. Another thing I loved about this book was seeing a woman get chances of a lifetime with her career. She worked her way on top and kept on doing so after having a child. She’s a powerful and indepent woman and that’s something we need to see more in books. The epilogue left me feeling very happy and I finished this book with a smile on my face! Once again the perfect amount of romance and in its own time. The romance wasn’t just there to have romance, but it fit well in the story.
Characters Tessa is a strong and independent woman and she definitely worked for what she wanted when it comes to her career. Besides that she is an amazing mother and Miles is her world. In some ways this goes too far. I get she wants to protect him, but I definitely don’t agree with a lot of her decisions. In the end it worked out. She loves her family and friends and is happy with her life as is. I love the fact that she learns to open up her heart again even though it’s not easy for her.
Rowan changes a lot in this book. In the last book he chose his career above love and it’s clear that he regrets that a lot. Other factors in his life have opened up his eyes that work isn’t everything. It’s not going to keep you warm at night. Marrying for business was the worst thing he could’ve done and he sees that now. After talking to his father, he realizes things aren’t all the way they seem. It’s wonderful to see how much he changes when he meets Miles. I mean he even watched Frozen, haha. Family becomes important and he finds a balance in his life.
Sam is my favorite character and he’s so sweet. He really deserves the world. It was nice to read about him again and how good of friends he is with Tessa. Even after his upbringing he still thinks family is very important.
Chloe was a fun character and seems like a good friend. I wish we would’ve seen more of her.
Carmen is just evil. I don’t think I will waste more words on her, haha.
