We were looking for something to post on Sundays when we don’t have anything planned (which is the case a lot of the time lately, haha). Then I saw a post on Early Bookish Bird‘s blog and it seemed like the perfect fit. She started #howimetmybook .
In this post we tell the story behind our books. The following questions will be answered: Where did we get the book? Why did we pick it up? What made us pick it up in the first place?
This was a really talked about series online last year and sometimes still is. I heard a lot about it. Some people were disgusted by it and others were really curious and said the books got better as the books went on. After a friend of mine read it and told me about some of the book, I was really curious and decided to pick it up myself.
Captive Prince is definitely unique. I have never read anything like it. It’s a lot of political power and a prince that becomes a slave. There are trigger warnings in this book though. There is rape and abuse in this book. It can be pretty hard to read and can be pretty graphic.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book at all and while some things were really hard to read, I started caring about the main character. I am curious to see where this goes in the second and third book. It’s been awhile since I’ve read this book, so I don’t remember all the details, haha. I do hope to read the second and third this year. I will definitely review when I’m done!
Have any of you read this book? I would love to hear what you think. This book was talked about a lot last year before I read it, so I’d like to hear more opinions now that I have read the first one!
I want to read this sooooooo badly
It was good! A lot different than I expected.
Ahhhh I got the e-book version this past weekend! Can’t wait to read it!
Let me know what you think when you do!
Will do! 😀
