Yesterday you saw what we read in January, now it’s time to show you the books we added to our collection this month! Even though we both have enough to read for quite a long time, there were some new books added to our already full bookcases, haha.

Candyce

This month I added 14 books to my collection. I was lucky to get giftcards and some money for Christmas, so I was able to buy some books that came out this month and ones I didn’t get that were on my Christmas Wishlist.

The Fandom – Anna Day

Anything that has to do with fandoms or books when characters visit cons are almost always auto-buys for me, haha. I still haven’t read one that I didn’t like.

Zenith – Sasha Alsberg & Lindsay Cummings

This is a hyped book that I have seen a lot of these past few months. I am hoping it lives up to its hype. The chapter headings are beautiful though!

The Defiant – Lesley Livingston

I read The Valiant last year and met Lesley in April. She was so sweet! I really enjoyed the first book, so I hope The Defiant is just as good.

Everless – Sara Holland

This another book that I’ve seen everywhere these past few months. I’m curious to see how the author uses paying with time. I have read mixed reviews, some people love it and other people didn’t enjoy it at all.

Batman: Nightwalker – Marie Lu

After reading Wonder Woman last year, I wanted this one as well. I have heard people say it’s good, so I can’t wait to read it myself. After reading Warcross, I’m excited to read another book by Marie Lu.

Wires & Nerve Vol.2: Gone Rogue – Marissa Myer

I loved the first book of this spinoff of The Lunar Chronicles. I love Iko and can’t wait to see how her adventure continues. On top off that, this graphic novel is beautiful.

Heart on Fire – Amanda Bouchet

This is the last book in The Kingmaker Chronicles. I read the first two in January 2017 and loved them. A friend of mine describes them as an adult version of Sarah J Maas characters, haha. It’s kind of true. It’s been a year since I read the first two, so I think I need a reread before I can continue with the last one.

This Mortal Coil – Emily Suvada

This was definitely a cover buy, haha. No picture will ever do this book justice. The sypnosis sounds amazing as well.

Ready Player One – Ernest Cline

This is a book that is being turned into a movie. I am the type of person who needs to read the book before I see the movie, so I ordered this one. The story sounds amazing and I have heard only good things about this story.

Four Letter Word & Hit the Spot – J. Daniels

I participated in the blog tour for Bad For you and it was the third book in the Dirty Deeds series. These books are the first two. I haven’t read them yet, but after Bad For You I need to get to these ASAP!

That Inevitable Victorian Thing – E.K. Johnston

Another kind of cover buy, haha, even though I really like the idea of this story. Another book I have heard a lof of good things about and seen everywhere. Hopefully it lives up to my expectations.

Truthwitch & Windwitch – Susan Dennard

Isabelle was a big fan of Truthwitch and this book does sound really good, so when I had the gift certificates I decided to order them. Only after it was too late, I realized I got a different version of Windwitch. Leave it up to me to do that, haha.

Once again this month I received some e-books for signing up for blog tours, netgalley and through reader groups. I’m not going to describe them all, because these will be titles that get reviews on the blog in the near future.

Isabelle

I’m planning on buying less books this year, I already get new books in subscription boxes, as birthday present and while I’m on trips to either the UK or the USA. So I’m trying to limit my book buying in between those things to the sequels I’m really looking forward to. I’m pretty proud to say I only added 4 books to my ever-growing collection this month!

Howl’s Moving Castle – Diana Wynne Jones

To be honest I’m not really sure what this one is about haha. But I heard really positive things about it and while I don’t remember what I did hear exactly I remember thinking; that sounds like a book I would enjoy. Plus I got a super pretty cover <3 Candyce gave me a giftcard after I had surgery and this was one of the books I got with it.

Assassin’s Apprentice – Robin Hobb

This was the second book I got with the giftcard. And also another one that I don’t really know anything about. I know its a fantasy novel and everyone seems to love it haha. Candyce’s boyfriend told me to read this series as well so I just went for it 🙂

A Wrinkle in Time – Madeleine L’Engle

This is pretty much a classic and since the movie is coming out soon I thought it was the perfect time to read it. I once again really like the cover of the version I got, and since the letters are super big I think I will fly through it. This was the last book I got with the giftcard.

The Cruel Prince – Holly Black

This was the Fairyloot book of the month. This has been one of the most anticipated books of the start of this year, almost everyone who has read it loves it so I’m super pumped to start reading this one. I did see a couple of disappointed people online so I hope my expectations aren’t too high!

That’s what we got this month! What did you get? Any books we need to know about?
