TTT #11 | Books I Really Liked But Can’t Remember Much About

We have been having fun with these Top Ten Tuesdays, so we decide we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Starting last week Top Ten Tuesday will be hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s prompt is all about books you really liked but somehow can’t really remember that much about.

Now this was a pretty difficult one to be honest! There’s a ton of books I liked and don’t remember that much about. However when thinking about them, I feel like I know the important stuff haha, when rereading though, I’d probably only remember the highlights… So I listed 10 books I think I only remember the basics from! The first five books were all 5 star reads for me, the other five were 4 star reads. So obviously I really enjoyed these books, might need to reread them 😉

Adorkable – Cookie O’Gorman

This is one of the most underrated books I have ever read! I don’t think I know anyone who has read this one. I remember it was such a cute and adorable read. It was about two best friends and a fake relationship – at least I think it was! – and it was a bit dorky – as the title reveals haha – All in all that’s not a lot to remember, I do remember how much I loved it though! This one is really up for a reread.

Dune – Frank Herbert

I read this one almost three years ago and also remember loving it. I picked it up because it was a favorite of a close friend of mine. It’s a pretty classic sci-fi I would say and I can’t stress how much I enjoyed it. I remember (I think) most of the elements from the book, which was pretty political but I’m sure I forgot so many details.

The Testing Trilogy – Joelle Charbonneau

I think I remember the first book best (that was the one I gave 5 stars I believe), and the last one the least. I can hardly remember the ending haha. I was actually talking about this with Willemijn last Saturday, we both said we enjoyed these books but that they were quite forgettable. I’m sure I wouldn’t give it a 5 star rating when rereading, so I’ll just leave it at this 😉

Raised by Wolves Trilogy – Jennifer Lynn Barnes

This is one of my favorite werewolf series <3 I absolutely loved the story and the more I think about it, the more I remember. However I definitely don’t remember enough to fill three books so I must’ve forgotten so many details. At least I hope they were details 😉 I love Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ books so I’m ashamed to say I have another one of hers on this list… I can’t wait for another book of her though!

His Fair Assasin 1&2 – Robin LaFevers

This is another series I remember really liking, I only read book 1 and 2 but do own the third one. I hope to read that one this year but I’m so scared I’ll have forgotten everything from the first two. I hardly remember the most basic parts of the story, oops! I might need to reread these before I can continue with the third one. There is another book coming in this series so I do need get on this soon!

I Hunt Killers – Barry Lyga

I don’t remember ANYTHING from this one. I gave it 4 starts so I must’ve enjoyed it! I just wouldn’t be able to tell you anything about it though. I couldn’t even give you a synopsis to be honest. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that…

Caster Chronicles – Kami Garcia

Apparently I liked at least one of the books in this series enough to give it 4 stars. I do remember the synopsis and some of the most important parts but I forgot SO MUCH. I also think I probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much if I were to reread the series right now. I don’t ever recommend it to anyone but I know I did enjoy it at some point!

Every Other Day – Jennifer Lynn Barnes

After reading almost every Jennifer Lynn Barnes book I started reading this one. I do remember the start of the book very clearly but couldn’t give you any further details. I forgot the ending (and all of the middle too) and can’t say that much about this one…

Ready Player One – Ernest Cline

It might actually be a good thing I don’t remember that much about this one haha. The movie is coming soon and I NEED to see it. I really enjoyed the book and do remember quite some of the important things that happened. I do think that I probably won’t be able to tell you if the movie changed much from the book as I don’t remember enough of it for that. I am thinking of listening to the audiobook before the movie releases though!

Clariel – Garth Nix

I got this one without realizing that it’s a prequel to the Abhorsen series. After reading this one I got the first book in the Abhorsen series (although I still need to read it, oooops). I do remember not getting all the references in the book and that it got me quite interested in the rest of the series. Somehow I haven’t started it…. I think I would be nice to reread this one after finishing the series.

So these were the books I really enjoyed but seemed to forgot everything about… Do you have any books you enjoyed but at the same time can’t really remember? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I absolutely adored Ready Player One, and even though I can remember everything that happened I still want to reread it! Beautiful Creatures is a difficult one – I read the whole series, and I can remember odd bits that happened, but I have no idea what happened in which book or who was who. I’m tempted to give it a reread, because I have a feeling I really liked them, but they’re just so darned big chunky.

You can see my Top Ten Tuesday choices here.

    1. Haha, isn’t funny how you remember the strangest things! And then really big things somehow slip your mind 🤷🏼‍♀️ I would love to reread more books but my TBR is just to damn big!

  2. I really want to read Ready Player One before the movie. But it’s annoying how often I read something, clearly enjoy it, but can’t remember anything about it. *sigh*

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!
