It’s the first week of 2018 and I thought it would be nice to start off with a tag about that. Our friend, Melissa, from Melissa’s Book World, posted this tag and I thought it would be a perfect fit for this week. So I decided to tag myself. What are my resolutions?
An Author You’d Like to Read That You’ve Never Read Before
I can probably think of a few authors for this, but I think I will choose Susan Dennard for this. Isabelle and a friend of ours recently read Truthwitch and loved it. I just got my copy of Truthwitch, so I hope to read something by this author this year!
A Classic You’d Like to Read
It just happens that reading some classics is a goal this year. Isabelle thought that it would be more fun if we read them together, so we scheduled four of them. One for each season. During the next month or two we plan on reading Oliver Twist.
A Book You’d Like to Re-read
There are so many books that I would love to re-read. After playin Trivial Pursuit with a Harry Potter expansion I really want to read Harry Potter again. I know a lot about the books, but some things do start to fade after awhile. And I just love the world. Last year I read the first three again. Maybe I should try and do the rest this year.
A Book You’ve Had for Ages and Want to Read
This is definitely a long list, haha. Here are a few I’ve had for ages, but haven’t gotten around to reading:
- Lifeblood
- My Lady Jane
- This Savage Song
- Passenger
- Rebel of the Sands
A Big Book You’d Like to Read
There are two big ones that I want to read that come to mind: Outlander and Lord of Shadows. They both seem really interesting. The only reason I wish they were smaller is that I would be able to take them with me. They’re too heavy to drag along in my bag.
An Author You’ve Previously Read and Want to Read More of
- Rebecca Yarros
- Kendall Ryan
- J. Daniels
- Marie Lu
- Adam Silvera
And many, many more.
A Book You Got for Christmas and Would Like to Read
All of them?!? Haha. I wouldn’t have put them on my wishlist if I didn’t want to read them. Seeing how I received quite the amount of books, I will just refer to our December bookhaul post that came online yesterday.
A Series You Want to Read (Start and Finish)
There are a few I want to start and finish this year. Even though I still have so many to finish, haha.
- Titan
- Falling Kingdoms
- The Sin Eater’s Daughter
- Penryn & the End of Days
A Series You Want to Finish (That You’ve Already Started)
This is something I’m really bad at. I start a lot of series and then other books get in the way and then it’s a year later and I still haven’t finished what I started, haha. A few I definitely need to finish this year:
- Snow Like Ashes
- The Remnant Chronicles
- Shades of Magic
- Grisha Verse
- Flight & Glory
- Renegades
- The Royals
Do You Set Reading Goals?
If so, how many books do you want to read in 2018?
The last few years I have set a reading goal and have been able to read more than planned. On December 31st I had read 151 books, so I am going to challenge myself with 160 this year. If I don’t make it, no big deal, but it will be fun to see how far I get!
Any Other Reading Goals?
Yes, this year I have other reading goals. I want to finish a series I have started every month, work on books that were on my shelves (before 2018) and read a few classics. I can’t wait to see what I’m able to do this year.
This was the resolutions tag. Hopefully I will actually read the books that I have used to answer these questions, haha. See any books you want to read?
I have the third Outlander book waiting on my shelf to be read and I really want to read it this year, but as you say they are huge and it´s not somthing I want to drag around in my bag.
That is the only thing that really upsets me about big books!
Same here but I will probably start it soon and I will take my time with it and read a little bit here, a little bit there and if it will take the whole year it just have to be soo.
That just means we can enjoy it a bit longer 😉
True 😀
Is the grisha verse books good?
I have only read first one and thw Six of Crows duology. I really enjoyed them. I love her writing style.
