We have been having fun with these Top Ten Tuesdays, so we decide starting this week we will do one every week. This bookish meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! This will be changing January 16th. Starting then we will find the Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week is all about the new to me authors in 2017. Let’s take a look at the new to me authors in 2017.
1 – S.G.D. Singh
Are you guys sick of us fangirling about these books yet? Haha. I know we’ve mentioned them a lot, but this is an author who really deserves more attention! If you like fantasy with a unique setting, this one is definitely for you.
2 – J. Daniels
Another author I have mentioned quite a few times, haha. J. Daniels is an amazing author! I think the Bama Boys will forever be one of my favorites. She has a new book coming out at the end of this month, so keep an eye out for the review!
3 – Francesca Zappia
Eliza and Her Monsters is a book I won’t easily forget. What seemed like such a simple storyline had a lot more impact than I expected. The fact that Eliza is a fangirl makes it even better.
4 – Kayla Tirrell
The trilogy she published last year was amazing. All three are everything you look for in a contemporary. The third book makes you want some other characters get their own book. I hope this happens in the future.
5 – Rachel Marks
I have read two books by this author and she is an amazing writer. Whether it’s a book about gods and goddesses or ancient religions and other special gifts, she’s got it covered. This February her book Fire & Bone will be released. I already had the chance to read and review, but I will be posting the review again on its release date.
6 – Shay Savage
This is writer who knew how to make a romance book so much more. I have never read a book with a main character who had the same issues as this one. Judging Books was an amazing story and really teaches us once again not to judge a book by its cover.
7 – Amie Knight
This author is SO sweet and her stories are beautiful, but heartbreaking at times. The way Amie Knight writes is really amazing and leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait for her next book.
8 – Adam Silvera
Adam Silvera is another author that both of us have been fangirling about. His books keeps getting better and better and he makes it so easy to connect to his characters. I just recently found out that he wrote a book with Becky Albertalli. I really need this book.
9 – Christina Lauren
Autoboyography was my first book by Christina Lauren and it was a good experience. Religion plays a major part of this book and I was really afraid that would take over the rest of the story. I couldn’t have been more wrong about that. It was the perfect combination and gives a lot of perspective on how hard it must be for some people to tell others who they love.
10 – Mia Sheridan
Archer’s Voice was also a first for me by Mia Sheridan. The only thing I regret was not reading something by her a lot sooner. Mia Sheridan writes emotional books as well (I guess those are my types of books, haha). My next book by her is already on my TBR. I got Most of All of You for Christmas.
This list was harder to make than I expected. In the end I also chose some authors that deserve way more attention! Are there any authors you read in 2017 that I need to know about?
I can’t wait to read Eliza and her Monsters. I’ve heard such good things about it.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!
You really should read it!! I loved it. It was a lot different than I expected it to be, but in such a good way. I will give yours a look!
I loved Eliza and Her Monsters as well. I can’t wait to read the forthcoming collaboration between Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera!
I really agree. I can’t wait to see what those authors do together!
I haven’t read any of these although I did buy myself ELIZA AND HER MONSTERS for Christmas. I can’t wait to read it. Glad you found it and lots of other great authors/books this year.
Happy TTT!
