Today is the last day of 2017, so we thought we would share some of our fun memories. We both had quite the year and not only with bookish things. To see the memories we want to share, keep on reading.

Wow this year is over already. It doesn’t seem like that’s possible. It was quite the year with many fun moments.
In January the first meet up with all the bookbabes was set up in Utrecht. It was such a fun day. Chatting about books and life, walking around the city and visiting bookstores. The evening ended with a nice dinner at a restaurant. Who knew a readalong would be the start of an amazing group of friends. I’m very thankful for The Throne of Glass readalong.
In April a lot of got together again for a different event. We all went to YALFest. This was an event set up here in The Netherlands with some very interesting authors. I got to meet Gena Showalter, Amy Ewing, Veronica Rossi, David Arnold, Victor Dixen, Donna Freitas, Lesley Livingston and Megan Shepherd. To be honest I didn’t know all of these authors before the event, but it was still had a lot of fun. The authors are really down to earth and funny. It’s interesting to learn how they start writing books and sometimes how they decide to kill our favorite characters, haha.
May started out in a fun way. My mom and boyfriend are big fans of Final Fantasy and the show Distant Worlds came here to Amsterdam. The music from the games is played by an amazing orchestra. I’m not a fan of the game, but I watch them play sometimes, haha. The musicians were amazing though and it was fun seeing them enjoy all the things that were familiar to them. And of course, I brought a book to keep me busy while waiting for everything to start, haha.
That wasn’t all for May though. We got our fur babies in May as well. They were so tiny. They lived on a farm and where they stayed with their mom cat was going to be destroyed, so we took them in. We have had them for seven months now and I can’t believe how much they have grown! I can’t imagine my life without them anymore.
September was a special month, because that’s when we started making plans for this blog. It was an exciting time and I am very grateful for all of the people who take time to read what we post. We’ve accomplished a lot more than we expected in the few short months we’ve been doing this!
In October Isabelle and I went to Paper Passion and in the evening we met up with some bookbuddies and we met Jennifer L. Armentrout. It was such a fun day even if we had a lot of bad luck with the trains, haha. If you click on the links above it will take you to the posts we made about those two events.
We have had quite some luck meeting authors this year. The Last Namsara has been pretty popular and Kristen Ciccarelli came here in November and of course we took the chance to meet her. Isabelle and I had a pleasant afternoon and evening. Hopefully stuff like this happens more often. December ended on a fun note with a gift swap with the book babes and the boxes we made for eachother. It was so much fun!
A lot more happened this year, but if I were to tell you everything it would be a book, haha. I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings.

Right at the start of 2017 we met up with our bookish friends and that’s actually we Candyce and I realised we live quite close to each other. While on the train home we talked about books (obviously), tv shows, and board games. Candyce immediately invited me over to come and play some board games and I think I came over in Februari for the first time. I spent quite some evenings at Candyce’s playing board games, working on our BuJo and that’s also were our blog plans started!
This year was really the year I went to concerts, I never really did that before and I’m so grateful for all the great music and good company I experienced this year. I saw Ed Sheeran, went to The Flying Dutch, went to Pinkpop where we saw Imagine Dragons <3, and I went to see Ryan McMullan. I’ve already got tickets for quite some shows coming this year and I’m so happy that I got all of those. Most of them were sold out in minutes so, YAY!.
As Candyce mentioned, we got to meet a ton of authors this year. In addition to Lesley Livingston, Gena Showalter, Amy Ewing, Veronica Rossi, David Arnold, Victor Dixen, Donna Freitas, Megan Shepherd, Jennifer L Armentrout, and Kristen Ciccarelli I also got to meet Marieke Nijkamp en Corinne Duyvis. It was great meeting all of them and we actually got to talk for a bit as well with most of them. They were all so sweet and lovely to talk to and I can’t wait to meet more authors this coming year.
I got to go to France twice this year, which was pretty great. They were both fun family trips and were great getaways. I also got to go to Antwerp, Belgium for the weekend and a weekend getaway with the whole family. Right when summer started I went to Sevilla for a big congress, it was an amazing experience and also insanely hot (50 degrees Celsius!!). And lastly, I went to Minnesota, USA again. I visited my friend and attended a wedding <3 Before flying there I also went to Los Angeles and San Fransisco for a couple of days with a friend and her family. So all in all I got to travel quite a bit and I loved it so much. I already have some trips planned for 2018 and I cannot wait to travel again.
These were probably the hightlights of my year haha. I feel like I’m missing some things but I can’t think of them right now. I did quite a lot of fun things this year, made amazing memories and already made so many plans for next year haha.
So those were some of our 2017 memories. We would love to hear about your favorite memory of the year! Thanks to all of our followers for reading our articles so far this year! It’s been an amazing adventure so far and we can’t wait to see what 2018 will bring us and the blog. Happy New Years everyone!
