TTT #7 | Books I’m Looking Forward to in 2018

Every other week we’ll have a Top Ten Tuesday. This bookish meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010!

This weeks theme is all about the books you want to read in 2018, and those can either be new releases or books that have been on your TBR for way too long. I decided to do 5 for each option and it was pretty hard narrowing it down haha. Let’s get into it!These first five books are new releases I am looking forward to in 2018.

Throne of Glass #7 – Sarah J. Maas

A Reaper at the Gates – Sabaa Tahir

Three Dark Crowns #3 – Kendare Blake

The Caged Queen – Kristen Ciccarelli

Reign of the Fallen – Sarah Glenn Marsh

The one I am anticipating most of all it the final Throne of Glass book, I hope we get a title and cover soon. I loved Tower of Dawn and can’t wait for the next book. I enjoyed the An Ember in the Ashes series a lot and I’m excited to see where this third book will take us, the first two books had quite some surprises for me in store.
After finishing One Dark Throne recently I can’t wait to see what more Kendare Blake has in store for us and the Queen(s). This world is so twisted and I am all for it!
I really enjoyed the debut novel of Kristen Ciccarelli, The Last Namsara, and I am looking forward to read more about those dragons, the old stories and what more Kristen has written for us.
And lastly I am anticipating Reign of the Fallen, that cover looks amazing! The story sounds really intruiging as well and I am excited to discover all that it has to offer.

Then onto the 5 books I want to get to in 2018 that are already on my TBR. This was super hard as there are so many books I want to get to right away… But in the end these are the books I went with.

Warbreaker – Brandon Sanderson

Windwitch – Susan Dennard

King’s Cage – Victoria Aveyard

Gemina – Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Invictus – Ryan Graudin

I have been wanting to read more Brandon Sanderson books after reading his Steelheart trilogy, or The Reckoners trilogy as it’s actually called. I heard Warbreaker was a great book to start with and I also got the Mistborn trilogy waiting in line right after that.
After finally reading Truthwitch (last week I think?) I need to continue with Windwitch. That might actually be the first book I read in 2018, if it’s not the last book I read in 2017 haha. I loved loved loved the world and characters in Truthwitch and hope I won’t be dissapointed with Windwitch.
King’s Cage has been on my TBR for almost a year, the second book in the series was such a let down that I haven’t been feeling the urge to pick this one up. However we’re getting closer to the release of the fourth book and I still hope I’ll enjoy this book. I loved Red Queen so we’ll see!
Another book I finally read is Illuminae, which means I need to read Gemina soon. And with soon I mean before the third book is released haha. I love the concept of these books and the story was quite interesting.
And lastly I’ve got a Ryan Graudin book waiting for me. I have been wanting to read a book by her for quite some time now but never got around to doing it. When I heard what Invictus was about, time-traveling thieves (!!!!), I knew I just had to go ahead and get the book. Hope to get to it at the beginning of 2018.

What books are you hoping to read in 2018? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Thank you! There were so so many books to choose from, I had to make some decisions haha. I think I have around 200 2018 books added to my goodreads… oops!

        1. Haha yeah there’s no way I’ll read them all. If I get trough 50 it will be amazing haha. But probably more like 20-25. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ a girl can dream at least 😉

  1. The cover for The King’s Cage is so eye-catching. Happy reading!

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

          1. I will, it’s just been difficult to find the time to read a 600+ page tome whilst I’ve been at Uni. Hopefully will start before I go back!

  2. I´m so excited for Daughter of the Siren Queen to be released. And there is a few interesting ones for the release in January I´m curious about like The Dangerous Art of Blending, Impossible Saints, The Hazel Wood and The Forgotten Book 😀

    1. I need to read Daughter of the Pirate King! Heard so many positive things about it. The Hazel Wood is definitely on my radar, we have an anticipated releases article today, so so many books are coming out in January 🙈
