Another fun Christmas themed tag for you guys! Today I have the Grinch Book Tag, I love the movie and this tag looked like a lot of fun to do. It was created by  Sam from Thoughts on Tomes  and I found it on the Literary Me blog. Let’s take a look at those questions!

➽1. Half of the lights on the Christmas tree are burnt out : Name a book/series/character that started out good but then went downhill

This first question is a pretty tough one right away! Scrolling through my Goodreads reading challenge helped me out though haha. There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins started pretty good, the first chapter was creepy and got me interested in the story. However it all went downhill from there. In the first half of the book hardly any get’s killed and the killer is revealed way to soon. Very disappointing after a good start.

➽2. Annoying Great Aunt Sally who will not leave you alone : Name a book that you didn’t enjoy, but everyone else seems to love so it never goes away

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, hated that book. I didn’t enjoy is AT ALL! But people are so obsessed by Neil Gaiman’s book and seem to like this one a lot. I might still try another one of his books but this one really wasn’t for me. I don’t mind magical realism but this just didn’t make any sense and the plot was kinda stupid,

➽3. Your pets keep knocking over the Christmas decoration : Name a character that kept messing things up for everyone else (can’t pick a villain!)

Sophie from The School for Good and Evil kept messing up everything through out all three books. She knows what she wants and goes for it but all the while see makes so many dumb decisions that just mess up everything for everyone. I still liked to read about her and her moral. Such an interesting character, especially for a middle grade novel. Would recommend is to everyone!

➽4. You hear your parents putting out the presents and learn Santa isn’t real: Name a book you were spoiled for

There isn’t really any book I’ve been spoiled for I think? I’ve read a couple of spoilers in reviews for books I wasn’t interested in anymore at the time I read the article. I did get spoiled by questions number 8 haha.

➽5. It’s freezing outside: Name a main character you just couldn’t connect with

This is the toughest one yet! I really can’t think of any character! Kinda annoying for the sake of this tag but great for me 😉

➽6. Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ and it’s giving you anti-romantic feelings : Name a couple you couldn’t stand

It’s not really a couple but I know a ton of people agree with me! Mirabella and Joseph from Three Dark Crowns, ugh they were annoying. To be honest it’s mostly he who is annoying, she is less annoying when he isn’t involved. I must say I was quite satisfied with what happened.

➽7. That scratchy homemade wool sweater you got for Christmas years ago but won’t get rid of : show some books that have been sitting on your shelves for a while, and you aren’t motivated to read, but you don’t have the heart to get rid of

I’ve got so many unread books but I feel like the biggest part of the books I got at the Dutch Book-festival won’t ever be read by me. I need to make this more important and might make it into another check in by grandma.

➽8. Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer: Name a character death you still are mad about (warn people for spoilers! You can also use TV or movie deaths)

I’m usually not really mad about character deaths, they’re part of bookworm life and I love having all the feels! But if I must pick one,

➽9. The malls are overly crowded with holiday shoppers: Name a series that has too many books in it/went on too long

House of the Night! That story just kept going and going with all these side plots… It should’ve been done in like 4, maybe 5 books. But not in the amount we got now, with also the start of another series in the same world, mostly the same characters I think?, however very unnecessary and I won’t be reading it.

➽10. The Grinch : Name a main character you HATE (No villains again!)

Scarlett from Caraval, my oh my how annoying can one main character be? Apparently very annoying! I couldn’t stand her and hope to see less of her in the second book haha.
