Not too long ago I posted an article about how I tracked my reading in my bulletjournal. If you want to check that out, you can click here. My current bulletjournal is just about full, so it’s time to start fresh for the new year. I had already been thinking about how I want to post more about the bulletjournal on the blog, so I thought showing you all how I set up for 2018 would be a lot of fun.
Back in October when Isabelle and I went to Paper Passion I bought a new bulletjournal. I have been wanting to start this one since then, but I have been good and just started last week. To be able to share this with you in a few articles, today I have the before pictures. Everything is still just outlined in pencil and I haven’t added any color.
So I started off with a page with the new year. I like how these doodles came out. I haven’t decided if I will do everything black and white or add some color.
After starting off with what year it is, I decided to do a future log. I didn’t have one in my current bulletjournal and I noticed it go pretty frustrating when I had a new appointment or something in the future I needed to write down, but really couldn’t, haha. I solved that problem this year.
I don’t really do moodtrackers or really have a reason to, but I love how this page looks in the examples I have seen. To be honest, I don’t know if I will remember to fill it in or not, but I am always a fun of coloring things. We will see how it goes.
Of course, we can’t forget my reading goals. Last week we posted an article about our reading goals. You can find that post here. If you already read that, you know I want to try and read 160 books this year. So, I have 160 squares. This year my goodreads challenge took up a few pages and that was rather annoying. I will see if I like this tracker.
We have different social media for the blog and I want to keep track of our followers. We have goals we want to accomplish in 2018, but those are more for us than anyone else.
As I already mentioned, I have reading goals. I also dedicated a page of those, so I can see them when I want to in my bulletjournal. A quote seems like a good fit for the bottom of this page. I don’t know what quote yet though.
We also have decided to set some goals for the blog, so those have to be written in my bulletjournal as well. I’m really curious to see how far we get by the end of the year.
It’s terrible, but I lose track of movies that are coming out and what I want to see. I figured a page to write down interesting movies would help me along. Maybe I will watch more movies than I did this year.
Just like Isabelle, I watch A LOT of tv shows, haha. I track them online and know what episodes I have seen, but it’s fun to put it on paper as well. It’s still pretty simple, but I want to add some color. At the moment I just wanted to see how much space I wanted to use for each show.
Basically I have added all the trackers I think I will need at the moment, so it’s time to start the planner part. This is my Hello January spread. I’m not completely happy with the gloves yet and I need to think of the colors I want to use this month.
Every month I always do a page with the whole month. These are used to track birthdays and holidays or other special moments.
A new bulletjournal means a new weekly spread. I liked the one I have been using the last couple of months, but it’s still not exactly what I want. This one was created by using a few examples from Pinterest and taking the parts of each one that I liked.
As you all know we write articles every month about the anticipated releases for the next month. It’s something I also track on paper. You never know what can happen.
Even though we use a digital agenda I like having it on paper, so when I sit down and blog all I have to do is look at the page in front of me.
I am already fortunate enough that I get to review books for authors. To keep track of what I still have to read and when the review is expected I keep track of them. I also track what reviews have been posted where.
This is what I have so far. I still need a page for my wrap up, bookhaul, totals and blog totals for January, but those aren’t interesting until they are actually filled in. So I will show you guys those when I write the next article and show you how it turned out in color.
So this is how I am starting off the new year. Are there any pages you think I’m missing? I am always open to new ideas.
Love bullet journals so much
Hi, I am new to the bullet Journaling and would like to know where do you find the journals with the dots?
Hi! I purchased mine on a webshop here in The Netherlands. You should be able to find them at craft stores?
Thank you so much it gives me a place to start.
I hope you’re able to find one. I really like the dots.
