Keeping up with the Christmas theme, I’ve got a Christmas tag for you guys today! We were tagged by alwaysopinionatedgirl for this tag, thank you so much 🙂 Let’s get into these questions!

What is your favorite Christmas movie?

I love to watch Home Alone as it always is on TV around Christmas, another favorite is Harry Potter <3 such a magical feeling and I love the Christmas scenes.

What is your favorite Christmas song?

Both our favorite movies and songs are mentioned in this article, one of my absolute favorite songs is War is over by John Lennon. And my favorite Dutch Christmas songs are Flappie and De Kerstezel.

Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

That really depends on when the family is visiting. This year they’re coming over to our place on Christmas Eve so we’ll leave the presents until Christmas morning. Most years we open them on Christmas Eve though! Or when I was younger, we have a second Christmas Day in the Netherlands and we used to open our presents that day. We were allowed to open 1 gift on Christmas Eve but had to be patient for the rest 😉

What is your favorite Christmas scent?

uuuuuuuuh, I have no clue to be honest! I guess just the regular old Christmas tree scent? That’s what I associate with Christmas the most of all.

What tops your tree?

We have two trees, so we have two tree toppers! I bought one in London years ago, it’s basically some kind of angel tree topper thing, it’s super ugly but I love it <3 The other tree topper is just a general one, same as everyone over here has.

Is your tree fake or real?

REAL REAL REAL. I wouldn’t want it any other way! The last couple of years we had either two or three trees in the house and I love it so so much.

Have you ever gone Christmas caroling?

I have not, it’s not really a thing here in the Netherlands so I’ve never had the opportunity to do it.

White or colored lights?

White lights it is! I like the view of white lights better, especially in our trees. We usually have all kinds and colors ornaments so colored lights would be way too much in our trees. But also in general I would say I like white lights better.

Eggnog or Hot Chocolate?

Another thing we don’t really have in the Netherlands; eggnog. Or at least, I don’t think so? Anyways, as you may have gathered from my initial reaction, I don’t drink eggnog. I do love hot chocolate but can’t have too much of it.

Are you a Buddy the Elf or a Ebenezer Scrooge?

I’m not exactly a Buddy the Elf but I do think that’s closer than Scrooge. I love Christmas, so even while it’s dark and cold outside I enjoy this time of year.

When do you put up your tree/decorations?

December the 6th! We have a Dutch holiday, that ends December 5th, we always put up our tree the day right after! This year it took a bit longer with all the snow we got. And we got two massive ones, they fell down their first night in our home, oops! Luckily the were still naked, no ornaments or lights yet!

If you could travel anywhere for the holiday season where would it be?

I think I would stay right here, I love being surrounded by family around Christmas so I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

Do you make New Years resolutions?

 I do! I hardly ever keep myself to them, haha, but I do make them! Still need to think of this year’s resolutions, hmmm.
