TTT #6|Ten Bookish Settings I’d Love to Visit

Every other week we’ll have a Top Ten Tuesday. This bookish meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010!

This was technically last week’s theme, but we didn’t have a TTT last week. Besides that, this week’s theme doesn’t fit for us. The top ten books of this year is something we have planned at the end of the year, so don’t want to do now. So instead, you get to see what ten booksh settings I would love to visit!

To try and keep along with our Christmas theme the last few days, I am going to choose places I would love to visit during Christmas or in the winter.

1. Hogwarts

3This is my number one choice of course. Hogwarts seems like the perfect place to spend Christmas. Snow on the grounds of that gorgeous castle and all of the decorations. I am sold.

2. College Campus in Fangirl

16068905I love how much snow that they get and I think that is perfect reading weather. This is also one of my favorite books, so just to be in that world would be amazing. And the actual Simon & Baz books would make it even more interesting, haha.

3. Pemberley, Ohio

33602143I just recently read this and all of the big houses and snow filled grounds sound like an amazing place to spend Christmas day. I can already imagine decorating a tree while the snow is falling outside. Or even taking a nice winter walk along town. After that of course going home to a cup of cocoa and a blanket by the fireplace while reading a book.

4. Velaris

17927395This isn’t exactly a place for Christmas, but it still seems like a beautiful place to walk around during the winter and watch the stars. Velaris is described beautifully in this book and I would love to be Feyre, haha. Of course I would love to experience Starfall!

5. New York City

7741325New York City at Christmas time has always been a dream of mine. All the decorations, the huge Christmas Tree, the ice skating rink (even though I can’t skate, haha). All the lights and the beautiful snow in Central Park. And adding Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares to the mix would make it a lot of fun.

6. Christmas Tree Farm

Books Jay AsherI would love to be Sierra and grow up with my family on a Christmas Tree farm every year. One of my favorite things about Christmas is getting a tree and decorating. The smell and the warm feeling it gives when you turn off all the lights and sit by the tree. So being able to spend all of my days around the Christmas Tree lot and helping people pick their tree sounds perfect to me. Especially if you add Christmas music and hot cocoa.

7. River Valley

image5This sounds like another cute town to spend the holidays at. The snow and cozy feeling of living in a small town. I think those are the perfect places to spend time in.

8. Kingdom of Winter

173991601Even though this book and its kingdoms don’t have the best circumstances, I would love to live in a place like Winter for the holidays. Of course a place where it’s constantly winter might get annoying after awhile, it would be charming for the holidays, haha.

9. Slammed

30333938Okay, I am terrible, but I can’t remember where this book exactly takes place. I remember that they move in the beginning, but for the life of me I can’t recall the exact place, haha. I do remember that they got a lot of snow. And the fact of how this family is close and decorates for the holidays together under not the greatest circumstances. Once again it seems like the perfect town to be in around this time of year. Everyone does check in on the other and that is an amazing feeling around the holidays.

10. Ashford Manor

18272397As you can tell by the cover, this is a beautiful manor. Lots of snow and trees add to the best part of this book, haha. During the story the main character also has to help decorate this manor. I love all the ideas and all the trees she has to decorate. Then again, the snowball fights and the warm family feeling this gives, makes this story complete. I definitely wouldn’t mind sitting on the couch with a book in front of the fireplace. Of course, the Christmas Trees would be beautifully decorated.

Those are my ten places to visit during Christmas/Winter. As you can see they all have lots of snow, warmth and Christmas spirit. That’s what I love these types of books during this time of year. I am already in a joyous mood. This just makes it feel more special. What are some fictional places you would like to visit during Christmas?

  1. I laugh a little because to me Christmas is hot weather and swimming and air-conditioning.😂😂Cultures are so different it’s hilarious! But I WOULD love to visit Hogwarts someday ahhh! And definitely all the kingdoms in Snow Like Ashes were super intriguing. Also I’d like to see snow someday?! So I’m up for that.😂

    1. That is funny how cultures are so different. I can’t imagine Christmas with hot weather and swimming, haha. I think it would be interesting to experience once, same for you with snow.
