Tag | #ToBeRead

I found another fun tag at Melissasbookworld (I feel like I can just copy paste this every week haha). Today’s tag is the #ToBeRead tag and is, surprise surprise, all about my TBR books! I have a huge TBR, so I can’t wait to dive into these questions. Lets get to it!

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I don’t really keep track, I don’t keep my TBR books seperate from my read ones. I did ‘recently’ create a goodreads shelf for books I own but haven’t read yet. I try to add books there as soon as I buy them but I forget it evey once in a while. I usually just look at my bookcase to see what I’ll read next. And I guess I mostly know which books I own and still need to read (mostly…) Also, just to clarify, when I talk about my TBR I mean books I actually already own, not just books I would like to read at some point of that sounded interesting enough for me to put them on my ‘want to read’ goodreads shelf.

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

I don’t count my ebooks for my TBR to be honest. I have tons and tons of ebooks but they’re all free ones from amazon and iBooks so I don’t feel guilty if I’ll never read them. I got hundreds and hundreds of ebooks I haven’t read yet so I guess I do have more ebooks. But like I said, I don’t really view as my TBR pile. The only ebooks I do see that way are review copies since I do have to read them before a certain date.

A book that has been on your TBR the longest.

I honestly don’t remember which book has been on my TBR the longest. It’s probably one I picked up in the supermarket for a couple of euros years and years ago, or one I picked up in a second hand store. The books I get there are usually thrillers, detectives, mysteries, stuff like that. They tend to have only Dutch books and I don’t mind that, especially not for those prices.

A book you recently added to your TBR

The last ebook I got was Descent, the second book in the Infernal Guard trilogy by S.G.D. Singh. I was provided this ebook in exchange for an honest review. I really liked the first book, as you can read in this review and can’t wait to dive into the second book (which will be right after I finish this tag). Last week I bought the Dutch version of The Dazzling Heights, the second book in the Thousandth Floor trilogy by Katharine McGee. I very much enjoyed the first book and am planning on reading this one very soon. Hopefully this week! And the last book I got recently, also last week, is Monstress volume 2. I read volume 1 last month, and this graphic novel is one I want to continue as soon as possible. Partly because it was quite complex and I want to make sure I don’t forget any important details haha.

A book in your TBR pile strictly because of it’s cover

Now, this is a tricky question. I do love a beautiful cover but I don’t usually buy books without at least having an inkling of an idea what’s it about. So I don’t think I got books I strictly got because of the cover… I guess I got the Snow Like Ashes trilogy by Sara Raasch because I did really like the cover and I knew it was a fantasy people were loving. I recently read the first book but the second and third are still on my tbr.

A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading

This is something i don’t like to admit to myself… I tell myself that all the books on my TBR will be read at some point in my life. Even though I know there’s a tiny tiny tiny chance of that actually happening… I just really do not like to admit I won’t be able to read all of them, it makes me sad even thinking about this. I think the books that will wait the longest are some thrillers I’m not super interested in at the moment and I got for a couple of euros at yard sales. They make up a pretty big chunk of my TBR and hepfully they will be read someday.

An unpublished book on your TBR your excited for

Per my own definition of TBR this is kinda impossible and since I don’t have any preorders at the moment there aren’t any unpublished books on my TBR. However there are some I know I’ll buy immediatly once they release or that I might even preorder.

The last book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab

These are all quite far away, late 2018 for the first and even 2019 for the last two books. I don’t think I’m currently reading that many series that have a book coming out soon. And then I mean series I’m caught up with and where I want the next book immediatly. But I might be missng some super obvious ones right now!

A book on your TBR that everyone’s read except for you

There are a couple of books I hear a ton of people talking about that I do actually own but haven’t gotten around to reading yet!

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amy Kaufman

A book on your TBR everyone recommends to you

Haha, that will also be Illuminae! Everyone is raving about that books and urging me to pick it up. I might do that next month.

A book on your TBR that you are DYING to read

There are so many books I would like to read as soon as possible! I’ll just give you guys a couple of books I’m really really looking forward to reading.

The Dazzling Heights by Katharine McGee
Monstress Volume 2
Warcross by Marie Lu
Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch
My Lady Jane by the Janies

That was this weeks tag! Feel free to do this one if you think it sounds fun. And let me know which book on your TBR you are dying to read!
